Blue and gold macaws
mynah birds (greater hill)
african greys
yellow naped amazon
yellow-fronted amazon
double yellow head amazon
blue fronted amazon parrot
quaker parrot
The best buy for speech would be the quaker parrot. We have 3 and they all talk. They actually talk better than my dads macaw! Our green ones cost about $150.00. Our blue mutation was more expensive at $550.00 but still cheaper than any of the others on the list. Derbyan ringnecks are supposed to be the clearest of the ringneck species. They are around $650.00 (I have been researching them for a while, trying to find one!!)

The most known bird for mimicing or just talking, are the African Greys. They are extremley talkative and high in potential.

The Amazons come a bit agter. Blue fronted, Double Yellow headed and Yellow naped amazon.

Electus and Alexandrines are also in the list. Not at the top with the Amazons and the greys but still one of the best talkers.

The best buy would depend on what you're wanting to see in a parrot.

If you want to have an active and joyful parrot, you might wanna take a look at the Cockatoo's and African Grey's. If you're looking for funny birds such as the Amazons, then buy an Amazon. It all depends on you!

Budgies, cockatoos, male coackatiels, lories, lorikeets, quakers, macaws, indian ringnecks, Meyers Parrots, and others are talkers in a sence of form. O_o

The best mimicing parrots are African Greys, Blue Fronted Amazon, Double Yellow Headed Amazon, Yellow Naped Amazon, and Eclectus. Also Alexandrines.

That's in general, it is different for each individual (an African Grey might never utter a word).

The best buy will depend on what you are looking for in a parrot. Always consider the cons as well as the pros, do plenty of research.

Other parrots that are often known to be decent talkers are budgies, male cockatiels, cockatoos, lories and lorikeets, macaws, indian ringnecks, quakers, and others.

I volunteered at a parrot sanctuary and can tell you that all of those named are wonderful birds. I love the African Greys and the White-bellied Caique. The Greys have such an intelligent look (which of course they are very intelligent) about them. The Caiques are wonderful little clowns who love to entertain. One that you didn't mention is the Green Cheek Conure. They're relatively quiet (as parrots go) and other than the usual seed on the floor and grapes on the walls, they're fairly clean. We lived with ours in an apartment and our neighbors never knew that we had a bird. Good luck regardless of what kind of parrot you get. Silver2sea

Most of the parrot family, though some birds of the same species may be more or less talkative.
Budgerigars/Parrakeet's - relatively inexpensive, variety of colors, small bird, almost understandable speech.
Cockatiels - slightly more expensive, grays, cinamons, pied, white (lutanio). Smallish bird, some talk well.
Galahs (gray and pink), Corellas (White and pink) - More expensive than the other two, birds are smaller than a cockatoo, but just as talkative.
Cockatoos - White and yellow, or more rare black and red great speakers, but very noisy birds and can be destructive.
Macaws - The limosine of the talking birds, and here one of the most expensive, Beautiful blue or red plumage, very talkative.

Of course how well the birds talk depends on how young you get them, how often you talk to them, and how inclined they are to speak. Training is usually easier if the are no other birds for it to talk to.
