not really a best friend is she. just ask your ex and gauge what she says. then date her. cause she is your ex just don't expect to be friends with her.

Same for if the situation was reversed...wait for at least 6 months to a year, and then make sure that the "third wheel" in the situation (the ex) doesn't mind/care.

If the ex *does* mind (and you parted on good terms, especially if remaining friendly), avoid the headaches from the running around on the sly. If she does mind, and you parted on BAD terms, the new girl may be looking to see what it was that kept you two together, or maybe wanting to prove that she can keep you where the first one couldn't. Or, (the ex) may have done something (intentional or no) that made the new girl angry, so you may be a "revenge lay"...

You are very considerate for asking this. You obviously care about your ex's feelings and that's a very good thing. I'm sure you're young and these things happen in life. If you're still close, ask your ex how she would feel if you got together with her friend because she likes you and has made it clear to you. From your ex's response, I'm sure you'll know what to do.

Well depending on your relationship with your ex i would try and talk to her about it. Generally out of respect it is best that you look at the relationship from another perspective. Say one of your good friends wanted to date your ex. Even though you might not like each other it could ruin your friends relationship or the girl you likes relationship with your ex. It can also cause problems because your ex might trash talk you because of jelousy that she wasn't good enough for you and her friend is. Especially if you guys shared intimate moments.
Really if you feel you want to try this relationship talk to both of them and have them talk to each other. She may say it's ok to not look like a controlling B**** but inside it could really hurt her.
sorry if this sounds rude, im not going for that
good luck

Just go for it so your ex can know what kind of a best friend she has. Or you can ask your exes permission. If you are close with this lady why hurt her because of her whore of a friend? She is someone to you still while this other chick is nothing.

Wow I have had that same problum. Dont go out with her. NO matter how much you like her. If you date her it will cause problums between them and they wont be friends anymore. And her friend could tell her bad things about you and stuff and start fights between you guys. Dont get caught up in the drama. I hope this helps and I hope you understand why you cant do it.

Hell no!!!! it's like your girl dating your bestfriend shortly after breaking up with you....

But, if this girl is nice and you are really attracted to her then.. talk to your ex. and see what she says..
You've already broken up with her so you don't need anyone's approval but at least you won't be caught in the middle of both?

You can start chatting with her, but you have the respect the feeling of your ex. anyway that situation won't last that long just wait till the right time...and if you think that your ex is ready to accept the situation....then you dont need to explain anything.
