whenever i turn on my computer AIM comes on right away how do i make it so this doesnt happen?> t hansk

Don't do what the above three people said. Obviously you sound like you don't need AIM. It's not a great program anyway. Go to add/remove programs in the control panel menu. Uninstall AIM. No more problems.

Yes, don't do what Shannon suggested--it is bad practice to do things that way, that's a last-resort method. Go through the AIM program itself in preferences and turn off "start AIM automatically when windows starts"

Go to Start, then click Run, and type in msconfig. Go to the tab labeled startup and uncheck aim. Hit ok, reboot and your set.

The reason its better to do it in msconfig is it gives the program itself no options. Aim comes with a lot of extra adware. Better to block all then allow it to drag your computer down. Personally, I just use meebo.

Don't do what the above person said. Just log-in, go to your settings.....uncheck "when i log in to aim, open when i start my computer" or something like that

oh thats easy. just click my aim on your buddylist. then click sign off. after that you will see the screename box. look where it says save password. next to it, it will say "auto sign on" make sure the box is NOT checked. if its checked, uncheck it

ok after it goes on when you sign on log out at uncheck the automatic sign off button or whatever its called next to the remember my name one!
