You try to control the media, abortion, gays, and everyone else's lives instead of just worshipping out of the public eye. Now because of christians when I watch tv before 10 I have to hear "I'm going to kick your gosh darn butt" which totally ruins the show.

Look at this sentence: "Sure, we're against Harry Potter, because of Witchcraft, homosexuality, cussing, etc." First, I don't recall any homosexuality in the Harry Potter series, and believe me, I have read all the books, all but the last several times. So I think you meant you are against homosexuality in general. Also against witchcraft and Harry Potter. Well, many people find that rather intolerant of you.
Is it so hard to understand that when you condemn what other people find valuable in their lives, they become resentful? And of course, your list of what you are against is actually a great deal longer than your sentence suggests. You are, almost by definition, against any religion but your own. Right? I mean, when you refer to being "afraid of the truth," you imply that Christianity is the sole repository of The Truth. You may as well have capitalized the term, because you are taught to believe that there is a single Truth, and you people have it.
Those of us who are not Christians consider this quite intolerant, and it makes us resentful. How can you blame us for that resentment as well as for the witchcraft or the homosexuality or the premarital sex or who knows what other condemnations you have ready for us? Worshiping false gods is the one that springs to mind in the religious context.

Do you even see the hypocrisy in what you've written?
You're against Harry Potter, a story about wizards and magic; and yet are fine with both the Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia...both stories about wizards and magic.
Make sure that when you use the words "the truth" when referring to christianity, you remember the quotation marks. The difference? Truth is something that can be verified to be true; 'truth' is something that cannot be verified, and you believe to be true.
That said, I don't fear your "truth", only the actions of those who believe in it with you. Your "truth" results in hatred toward those born differently than you (homosexuality is not a choice), and those who don't adhere to your beliefs. It results in you getting a false sense of superiority, looking down on people, when you don't even have the ability to use something like spell check to cover up your lack of intellect.
Not everything about christianity is bad. There are a few good lessons to be found in the bible (do unto others...), but you have to wade thru quite a bit of lies, contradiction, and social control mechanisms to find it.
Do some actual research into witchcraft (real witchcraft, not the Disney 'evil witch' style), and you'll find that for the most part, its a peaceful faith. Do some research into science and sociology, and you'll learn that homosexuality is a state of birth, not a choice. You'll also learn how much of your bible is blatantly wrong.

People do not like to have restrictions placed on them, certainly not by a God they cannot hear or see. They have no understanding of what faith is.
Matt 6:24 No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 6:22 Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall cut you off, and when they shall reproach you and shall cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
Here's the clincher:
Luke 6:27 But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you
Luk 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest...
See 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 for the definition of Love.
As an aside, I'm a Christian and I don't have a problem with Harry Potter or honest to goodness witchcraft, both are extrememly misunderstood by people who don't comprehend the idea of "research." There are Christian witches, and no, that is not an oxymoron. I don't have space to get into this here, but you can do a search on "Christian witch," or even the history of the word "witch." Most witches are not Satan worshippers, as is commonly believed. The majority are Wiccan, which does not embrace Christianity, but they don't outright worship the devil either. Food for thought.

Most people don't hate Christianity. Rather, they see the hypocrisy and the refusal to admit that some have misused Christianity as signs that Christians are not sincere or honest.
As a Christian gay man, I'm shocked at the way those who promote the anti-gay lifestyle misuse the Bible to justify their own homophobia. We know that homophobia is sinful, because it harms people and this is in direct conflict with Christ's commandment to treat others as we want to be treated. Rather than accept the truth that they are engaging in harmful and sinful behavior, anti-gay Christians would rather deny their sin and call others hateful. Funny how we only hear this charge from those who are feeling guilt due to their own sins. Unfortunately, these kinds of misguided Christians make all the rest of us Christians look bad.

I am a Christian, but I'm the kind other Christians would typically kill historically speaking.
People hate the fundamentalist due to fundamentalist intolerance. Fundamentalist have pushed themselves as the only Christians to the point that all Christians are viewed with suspicion and doubt. Some of us are sick of it and we aren't angry with the people that generally hate Christians we blame it on the fundamentalist.
I display tolerance when I respect and accept who you are and make no attempt to change you.
Intolerance is NOT when I tell you I don't want to hear your message of truth.
In short people hate Christianity because of the Christians because the Christians don't follow the teachings of Christ and love unconditionally.
You are hated for ushering in ages of darkness and confusion from the time of the inquisition to now. No one denomination deserves to be singled out as all literal bible pounders of all denominations are the servants of Lucifer.
Feel better?

People don't so much hate christianity, but the act's that some people choose to carry out in it's name.
you raise Harry Potter for instance, This is a fictional book, written for the purposes of entertainment, and it makes people appear ignorant to appose a book just because it contains "witchcraft".
Homosexuality, it is not any christian's place to try to force their beliefs onto another, being gay isn't like a switch or a choice, you are allowed to have your opinion on the subject but the way that it is handled currently upsets people.
It comes over as very hypocritical as Chrisitian's preach tolerance but then appear to be completly intolerant of people who have a different belief set or view from them.
many Christian's luckally are actually mature people with commen sense, and I do not believe that the ones here are a true representation of Christian's as a whole.

I practice Witchcraft. I guess that means that you're against me. I however am not against you, but I do feel sorry for you because you condemn what ever you are told to condemn, without giving any real reason for it. If you say it is because the Bible tells you to, then are you aware that the Bible also tells parents to have their rebellious children stoned to death (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)?
When you have kids, is that what you're going to do if they get out of line, just because the Bible tells you to?
This willingness to follow certain parts of the Bible without any real good reason except the Bible says so, but ignoring other parts of the Bible because you don't like what it says, is one of the reasons why so many non-Christians have very little respect for the religion of Christianity.

im not sure why people are so against my faith as a christian really i know though that satan hates it and i supose he can use others to go against us in one way or another.
