i get my share of hate mail for some of my answers AND i've gotten a couple of violations. cool. i'm not the sweetest Christian in the yellow pages because i think a lot of things are funny and prefer to laugh or poke fun instead of engage in loony conversations that are not going to go anywhere anyway.

but i've NEVER sent an email to someone because they gave a dumb, racist, hater, blasphemous or plain old knuckledheaded answer. 90% is i see it as a waste of time and the remaining 10% is i simply don't care and won't remember the question or answer 5 minutes after reading it...

but i just read this news article and wonder how many of y'all ever went navy on a fellow r&s'er? (considering some of the hater mail i get...i'm betting more than a few...

I have never initiated e-mail contact with anyone on Yahoo! Answers. If I ever do it will be to let them know I appreciate something they wrote. I've gotten mail from people who disagree with things I've written. I don't write back, but I do save the messages, just in case . . .

What the jerk in the article did was inexcusable. The worst part is that he seems to think that what he did was justified. They can't keep him locked up long enough as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who does something like that and thinks it's okay is likely to do it again.

One line really bothered me: " 'He lost everything - all over an Internet squabble,' the investigator said."

It's like he's blaming the victim. I think he should have said, "He destroyed someone else's home - all over an Internet squabble." That would have put the blame where it belongs.

This person in your article(I enjoyed reading) went way overboard.Taking things to extreme can cause a pot full of trouble especially this internet thing. All I got to say if you dont have enough trouble in your own life why invite more in with giving somebody your email address.? We have enough problems out there without creating more for ourselves. Let the subject go when you read them , or just dont respond to something that you know good and well is going to bring a rise out in you. You look for trouble and by golly you gonna find it and vise versa. Good q btw.

I don't post personal info anywhere on the net, it's just plain stupid.

it because of lack of closure. if the person never resolves the issue, it is still listed in their subconscious as unfinished business.
