The answers so far match what a couple of Mormons told me once- that they believe Jehovah is just another name for Jesus. I just can't get a clear explanation from ANY Mormon on how they absolutely, positively, without a doubt know that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet. They always relate the story HE gave to everyone, which no one else was around to witness! How do they know that HE's telling the truth?
Oh well, as far as who Jehovah is- they may be wrong, but at least they're consistently so! The bible is crystal clear that Jehovah, the Father, is God, but that the Son, Jesus, is NOT God. Jesus even says so himself! (Matthew 24:36; John 14:28; 20:17; 1Corinthians 11:3) Also, Jesus was created. (Colossians 1:15, Proverbs 8:22-31)
Then, of course, there's always Revelation 22:18, 19- "18 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll."
How do Mormons reconcile the book of Mormon with what John wrote here in Revelation? Isn't the book of Mormon a HUGE addition to the things written in the bible? Maybe these are better questions to ask on Yahoo!

Jehovah is the sacred name/title given by the God of Israel in the Old Testament. While this title can rightfully be applied to both the Father and the Son, Mormons usually use the title to designate the Son, as it was the pre-mortal Jesus who was acting in almost all cases as the representative of the Father in the Old Testament. So when God/Jehovah led the Israelites out of Egypt, when he gave the Law to Moses, when he appeared to the Prophets, including Ezekiel (Ezek. 1), it was the pre-mortal Jesus that the prophets were seeing.
So it was Jesus that the Israelites were referring to as Jehovah, although Jehovah ruled under the authority of his Father, who is also called El or Elohim. Unfortunately, this distinction is largely lost from what we know have as our Old Testament.
However, from the NT we learn that Jesus was the one who performed all the roles attributed to Jehovah:
--Jesus was the Creator (Heb. 1:2, Eph. 3:9, Col. 1:16-17; cf. Isa. 42:5, 2 Kings 19:15, Amos 4:11-13)
--Jesus is Judge (2 Tim. 4:1, John 5:22; cf. Ezek. 1:10-11, Micah 7:9, Isa. 33:22)
--Jesus is the Shepherd (Heb. 13:20, John 21:16; cf. Ezek. 34:30-31, Zech. 10:3)
--Jesus is the King (Rev. 17:14; cf. Hosea 13:9-11, Zech. 14:16, Isa. 33:22)
--Jesus is the Redeemer (Luke 24:19-21; cf. Isa. 44:24, Isa. 47:4, Hosea 13:14)
--Jesus/Jehovah to be pierced (Zech. 12:10, Isa. 49:16; cf. Rev. 1:7)
--Jesus is the God of Israel (Rev. 21:3; cf. Ezek. 34:30, Jer. 32:38)
--Jesus/Jehovah is the Rock (1 Cor. 10:1-4; cf. 1 Sam. 2:2)
(The passage in 1 Cor. explains how it was Christ, as Jehovah, that led the Israelites in the wilderness).
There are many other scriptures that could be cited to demonstrate this parallel. It is very clear that when Jesus came, his followers considered him to be the incarnation of the God of Israel, Jehovah. This does not mean that he is the Father. OT scholar Margaret Barker demonstrates clearly in her book "The Great Angel: A Study of Israel's Second God," that Jehovah was a second Deity that served under his Father, who was El (or Elohim). Jehovah was the Image, the Face, the Representative, the Messenger, the Viceroy, of the Most High God. Jehovah was the Firstborn Son of God, the Chief over the Angels (Sons of God). You can read all about this in Barker's book(s)---Barker is Methodist, not Mormon, by the way.
Just one more comment--in response to a previous poster's opinion about Mormons, that they just blindly follow what Joseph Smith said-- if that is whay you think, then you haven't talked to many Mormons. It is absolutely foundational to our faith that we try to gain a personal witness from GOD that what Joseph Smith said was true. This is encouraged constantly, especially to those just investigating the faith. We must have a witness through the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith was called by God. This witness comes as a result of deep study and sincere prayer--the witness of the Holy Spirit comes from God to tell us in our heart and mind that what Joseph Smith said was told him by God himself. The witness of the Holy Spirit is the foundation of Mormon belief--not "blindly" believing what Joseph Smith said he saw and heard.

As biblical scholars read Isaiah 43:3 and John 8: 56-58 they realize that Jesus Christ, otherwise known as Jehovah and the Savior, was the God of the Old Testament.
With these scriptures in mind, turn to Exodus 6:3 wherein it says:
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

"Christ is Jehovah; they are one and the same Person. The word Jehovah itself is the anglicized form of the Hebrew Yahweh, which refers to the God of Israel." Elder McKonkie
The name Jesus (Hebrew- Yeshua) is a masculine personal name meaning Jehovah is Salvation or deliverance; and accordingly, with supreme propriety, it was chosen and revealed as the personal name of our Lord.
Yes we believe Jehovah is God. He is the Only Begotten of the Father and through Jehovah the Father created worlds without end and the Heavens.

Sorry, I'm not sure what your question is. Are you asking whether we believe in Jehovah, or are you asking who we believe Jehovah is?
