some guy just said that
its just weird
he said people under 20 should just be dating and seeing what we like, NOT in a relationship.
umm.. this isnt like.. the 70s (80s?)
people dont use the term "going steady"anymore
dating someone, is pretty much being in a relationship
now days
lol
for people where i live anyway
opinions anyone?
idk, im 16, and my boyfriend is 20.
(before you start being a jerk, if both of the couples parents are ok with it, it isnt illegal :D my dads a cop)
weve been together for awhile, and theres no problems yet

if you r only 16 and he is 20 be careful! It is not wierd to have a boyfriend or girlfriend when you are under 20. Dating is fun and sometimes we fall in love, just don't get married b 4 your 20. I am not saying that marrying b 4 20 is wierd, but, it is hard, no matter how much u love each other or how mature you are or are not. Marriage is hard. Have fun, see many boys ,, have relationships with lots of people... not all at once. :)
Enjoy this time of your life and enjoy all your relationships.

Dont listen to that guy. He probably thinks you should be out having sex and flings like all horny teens today. As an 18 year old guy, I know that most guys just care about sex and nothing else. They dont care about being in a serious relationship, because lief to them right now is getting drunk and getting laid. In fact theres a girl whos 16 that I really like, shes shy and quiet just like me and we have so much in common. However, I have put off dating her, because I'm paranoid that youn relationships never work out. So I'm gonna wait until I get a little older before I ask her out. You're relationship can work although, its highly unlikey it will. However, its not a disgrace. What is a disgrace is having 5 or 6 boyfriends or girlfriends a year and just having sex. Now that is a disgrace.

I don't know where you live but technically it could be illegal. It's considered statutory rape unless you fall under the consent law which here is 17. Anyways no there's nothing wrong with anyone dating under 20 that's just stupid. It's better to date because frankly the more relationships your in the more experience you'll get with dating someone. Just like I don't believe in not living with someone until you get married. You will never know someone truly until you live with them for a year.

Yeah.
Basically dating and relationship is the same thing now.
Like, people will say, "yeah I dated him" instead of, "yeah we were in a relationship."
It can get confusing...but I don't think it is.
It's everybodys own decision, no matter what age they are, whether or not they want to be in a relationship.
Some people may want to just date around, not exclusively, and just see a whole bunch of people, but some people want to be commited and be in a long term full blown relationship.
It just depends, and that was just the guys opinion.

At your age you may be knowledgeable but not wise. Keep up your friendship but dont get into permanent relationship. You have the whole world to explore and age to your advantage. Now you are a free bird and once you commit to a permanent relationship you will be consigned to a cocoon with no escape route. Take your time and think.

Under 20 and still live at home - you have no idea what a relationship is.

I'm 18 he's 20. It's fine. Just never give absolutely everything you've got. Hold off just a bit. You give them your whole world, and they're bound to take it with them if they leave you.
Hope everything works out wonderfully.
Finish school.

Well, as odd as it sounds tp me, if you two are happy, then awesome!
I was married before I was 20 (I was 19), so 1) I can't say anything about what your doing and 2) that guy was an idiot.
