If there is any truth in this, shouldn't it be true for everyone?

Aum.: Don't break it! Just say to it gently that the soot and grease that is covering it is not it's true nature, it was "added on" later.

"Do you know that feeling, as though somebody just danced past, laughing? Like sunlight, sparkling on water? Like quicksilver, bright and magical?"

to me [jon] that is is the footsteps of the goddess! (((jon)))

the consciousness of humanity says sunman, a very lovely answer that deserves drinking to! (((sunman)))

before the inquisition, crusades, etc, gaia was populated by people more able to access this consciousness of humanity and reflect it back out into the world.
we are now in a time where we are recovering from our injuries and the light is shining brighter all the time

for that i celebrate and send love and light to you all!!

keep your flames burning bright

(((coyote)))

blessed be

I believe that the phrase was originally one of the names of the Christ. But where did that historical light come from?
(I could get into a bit of trouble with Christians here, but this is my truth, and I can only tell my truth).
Do you know that feeling, as though somebody just danced past, laughing? Like sunlight, sparkling on water? Like quicksilver, bright and magical?
I have been told, and I believe it, that that is the Christ Spirit - the Light of Man.

When man walks in the clear light of living Truth, knowing of his invulnerability of energy essence, he will shine the Courageous attributes of Spirit, such as compassion, forgivness, kindness, patience, undrstanding, tolerance, and absolute mercy, to heal his brothers rather than judge them. Unselfishness is the badge of human greatness. This light of man will shine on the path of the weak and fearful, excluding no one. This light is the true essence of freedom from fear, which can only extend itself as Perfect Love.
Peace

This is the light that each of us human beings carry, a little piece of the Divine in each.
In some it burns brighter than others, but this is our Divine birthright.
It is up to us to make it shine bright or not.

I associate 'Light' with 'Consciousness'.
I associate 'Man' with 'Humanity', meaning all of mankind.
For someone to be seen as the Light of Man, they would need to have an innate understanding of the mind of Mankind at a group level, and to some degree reflect that Light.
Yes, it's true for everyone.

In sacred texts the word "man" is a metaphor for "reason," or clarity of perception. (The feminine aspect of mind = creation) It is accurate perception that is achieved by questioning learned egoic assumptions/beliefs; the stage preliminary to enlightenment.

Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man (reason) before he undertook the final stages of transcendence, leaving behind a metaphorical story of the "way" for others to follow. The phrase "Let your light so shine before men, etc." refers to the gifts of one's authentic (Christ) Self/(Buddha) Nature, Prophet in Jewish and Islamic traditions, Atman in Hindu terminology.

If someone were referred to as the light of 'mankind,' I would understand them to be an enlightened individual devoid of ego, with the ability to provide guidance to others.

It is the aura of the person. If it has positive vibrations and such person infuses energy in everyone he/she comes in contact with then this is the light of that man. Yes everyone has an aura and it is the product of thoughts of that person.

What everyone above me has said... and,
What everyone below me will say...

Put it ALL together, and you have the Light of Man(kind).
