No Richard....I don't mean spitting that little spittle from between teeth.
That is kid thing..they grow out of that.
I mean spitting and bringing up matter from the lungs and dropping it on sidewalk via the mouth.
It is a pet peeve of mine.
I have seen pools of it....8 inches in diameter and I'll wager a quarter inch deep.(not that I dared to measure it)
A mean tablespoon size amounts of spit....every sixty seconds.
I am sure alot of you folks have seen that.

no i do not nut my husband does and i'm with you it's disgusting embarrassing and annoying. i try to get him to stop but after 19yrs with his parents it's hard his dad blows his nose at the table and his mom hawks up the nast phylem spit stuff too and it's so nasty and saounds like a man. it is very embarrassing to be seen with them and they don't get it trust me i don't and think it's rude for others to

If I had to spit, I would do it into the street, the gutter, or the dirt. NOt on the sidewalk, or in grass (people walk in grass, sometimes barefoot). You cannot always control the need to spit, but you can control where you do it at. When indoors, I would use the commode or spit into a tissue and toss it. Worse than spitting to me is people who blow their noses at a dining table or in a restaurant.

I spit into the gutter as much as possible, or into the grass, or into planters. I try to avoid spitting anywhere someone would be likely to walk into it.
Am I a pig? No, I'm human.
Am I a public nuisence? No, that would be the twit with the can of spray paint, or the kid stealing cars...THEY are the nuisenses - we just had two piece of crap teens whom stole a pick-up, and killed a cyclist. So...before making generalities about human behaviour, try to avoid stupid blanket statements.

Yes, I've seen people do that and I think it's nasty. Some people just don't get it. I've spoken up to people who do that too...it doesn't do any good. Yes, it's nasty and I think if caught people should get cited for it. Get this, here's another one I've seen and it just disgusts me to no end: I've seen people blow their noses AT the dinner table and then open their napkins as if to read a verse from the Book of Mucus....Ive seen it with my own eyes...I was totally taken aback by that...I've seen it happen several times in restaurants and once at my own house when I had a guest....Needless to say everyone lost their appetites. Someone at the table said something to this guy. His response? He looked around at everyone at the table and said, "What?" As if he had no idea what he just did. He got defensive at the rest of us and we just didn't eat until he left.

No, I don't spit on the sidewalk, not in any public place - whether I'm just plain standing, or walking or riding in a car. I don't like to step on any of these grimy things so it is but natural for me not to do any of these so as not to offend anyone who, like me, have a repugnance for them. And I would like to thank those who do the same, for themselves and for others.

Spitting in sidewalk is sheer public nuisance and despite knowing the fact people go on spitting. I don't get it. I never spit, never! despite any circumstances.

I do not spit on sidewalks,but eeewwww..its so gross!! i despise people who do,and worse yet,a person who spits like,every 30 seconds while having a conversation with you!!! is talking to me giving you a foul taste in your mouth or something?? i live on the 5th floor of my apartment and my new foreign neighbours are really gross,i'm so... not racist but a few times i caught them spitting out of their balcony which is not only gross but down right rude!!!what if someone were to walk by underneath,right at that very moment???eew.eew.eew.the point is,people who spit publicly are not only gross but they are also showing a low class mentality!!! gross.btw,you dont have to be poor to be low class,you can be rich and yet have a low class mentality.eew.please dont spit on streets or wherever,period.its just gross.

I don't. I go to the restroom and spit in the toilet. Or I get some tissue and spit in that and throw it away.
