I do not have a magic recipe but I do have some suggestions.
Fruit - is always a great picnic fruit. Find out his favorite and make sure you have it. If you want to get even fancier with it, cut up several different kinds of fruit in bite size and mix yogurt in it. It doesn't sound like it would be that great but it is! Last time I had it my friend put canalope, kiwi, blackberries, strawberries and green apple and mixed in the yogurt.. Yummy..
You could put it in a plastic container the nite before, keep chilled and the morning of mix in the plain yogurt.
If you could find a simple recipe for keech (mis-spelled but hopefully you know what I am speaking of) You know that pie like breakfast food made with eggs and a variety of other ingredients.
You should serve crusoints with this have some easy to spread butter or and cream cheese to serve with the crousants . ( someone tell me how to spell keech and crousants) . If you can't find crousants at the bakery, bagels will do.
You should also come to the picnic with juice in your basket. Now if you want to make it really special, come with a bottle of champagne and mix it with orange juice. It is called a Mimosa. Yumm. Do not mix it until you are ready to serve. Pour into the wine or champagne glass about 1/3 juice and them 2/3 champagne. Top with a slice orange or strawberry.
If he is a bacon and eggs kind of man make sure you put a few slices of bacon in the basket also.
Keech (ms) is not hard to make ... I just do not have a recipe but you can find one on the internet. Find out how to spell in correctly and go google it or to a gourmet food, or recipe site and you will see just how easy they are to make. It has been yrs since I made one.. Try using the pillsbury dough that is already made, all you have to do is put it in the pie pan and bake. It taste as if it is homemade.
Good Luck

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aOg4v
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

How about: Breakfast burritos with egg, chorizo, and cheese in flour tortilla, (or boiled eggs) slices of cantaloupe, English muffins, soft butter spread, fig preserves, and grapes. Don't forget a thermos of coffee.

I would do anything except eggs. Cold eggs are nasty. How about croissants, fresh fruit, smoked meat and cheese. When we were in Italy they had these croissants that were filled with melted chocolate. I tried to replicate them at home with a little bit of success, definitely not the same but good. Get croissant dough and spread with nutella about a 1/3 of the way in. Then bake as your package says. Or you could just spread nutella on the croissant.
