whenever I paste something into it it opens into another window. I want it to all be on the same window! please help

You need a different tool.
Right Click on the toolbar and you can customize it by adding and subtracting or moving tool buttons around.
There are several Paste options you want the "Paste New Selection" option. This will put the pasted image on top of the image in the same window. You can add a layer and paste the image on the new layer so you can move adjust, edit and align it then when you are finished you merge the layers and the pasted image will now be part of the image(s) on the layer below it.

save the picture to ur computer and then to get it into the program click on the FILE button at the top and in the drop down menu select IMPORT and click on the picture where its saved and click open.

set your focus to the window you want to paste in before pasting.
