Maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion, but my coworker keeps telling me personal stuff about his life (I dont wanna hear aobut it). He is 35 and confiding in a 20 year old(me) about his friends, family, and sex life. The thing that freaks me out is that he looks really old which makes the situation very uncomfortable/makes me wanna gag.
This is how he kinda looks like:

I'm one of those people who are willing to listen to others problems from time to time but I just think it's too much info from him.

Let me put it this way, if a guy who looks as old as your dad talked to you about his sex life would that not gross you out? I dont like to judge on looks but this is an exception.

Maybe you can try just saying "yeah...yeah...really...etc...." in a really bored tone or just start talking to someone else in the middle of his babbling. He should get the picture. The talking about his sex life is way over board! He should not be talking about that at work, let him know that it is VERY inappropriate-and GROSS.

I really know what you mean. I work with someone who feels we should all know everything about everything he does, at home, at work, etc etc. Not his sex life, thankfully, but only because it's a VERY conservative workplace and it would be so inappropriate.
Anyway, I just don't listen to him, but if it is really bothering you there are a couple of things you can do:
1) Pretend you have an ear infection, wear cotton wool in one ear and whenever he talks moth "Sorry, I can't hear you'. Then just think your own thoughts.
2) Say to him outright, "I find it very distracting to talk while I work. Would you mind if we had some quiet time for a while?" then if he starts speaking again just look up, smile and shake your head and go back to your work.
3) Speak to your supervisor and explain that the guy is a nice bloke, but the constant chatter is distracting and irritating. Ask the supervisor to have a word. But be prepared for your co-worker to get cross about it and maybe not be so nice.
PS: The guy in the link looks OK ~ he's at least not hurting the kitten! LOL!
Good luck! :-)

Yes, you shouldn't be bearing this torture.
Options:
- Interrupt him in the middle of whatever he's saying and you do not want to listen to, and start talking about serious issues or about boring issues or about work matters... and keep it going then end it and give him your back and do your work.
Do that often till he gets bored of you interrupting him and showing carelessness towards what he is saying.
- Interrupt him again in the middle of what he's saying and you do not want to listen to - and then comment (Boy, you sure are an open book.. or boy, you sure don't mind talking about the most intimate details) follow that with a friendly smile then say (So, what have we got to finish for today, or so, have you completed that paper, etc).

I would tell him you don't feel comfortable hearing the intimate details of his life and would appreciate him not sharing those with you. If the behavior continues I would mention it casually to your supervisor. This is sexual harassment, but I would try to solve it now before it becomes a big problem. And his looks have nothing to do with it.

Let me put it this way...You should never have to feel uncomfortable at work and especially if he's older he should know what he's doing is wrong. If you dont feel comfortable telling him to f off then go to ur boss or human resources.

No it is not appropriate.
Unfortunately, you opened yourself to it when you allowed yourself to be used as a councillor.
Tell him flat out that you are uncomfortable listening to his problems, and advise him that he should probably be talking to a professional. Next, you cut your time spent as a sounding board for *everyone*.
Good luck.

Put a stop to it. Tell him directly that is too much information for you. Why does it matter how he looks?
