There are lot of contradictions in the Bible. I am just going to quote and describe only 4 of them.
1)According to the Bible, Book of Genesis
Chapter 1, verses 11-13,
Vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as it has been stated in the Bible?
It also says light is created on the first day where as the source of light 'The Sun' is created on the fourth day. How is this scientifically possible?
2)According to Bible Fowl has four legs.
Lev 11:20-21: "All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you." Fowl do not go upon all four. There has not been any fossils of winged creatures found that has four legs. insects do not have four feet either. So therefore, it is not very accurate in describing Zoology.
3 )"You shall not murder."
--Exodus 20:13
"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."
--Numbers 31:17-18
4)According to Bible King James Version Job 26:11 it says the heaven is placed on pillars. It says
"The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof"
This may be a metaphor but does not seem very scientific.

A claim of technical contradictions only stands if there is no reasonable way to demonstrate how the statements can be interpreted to be logically consistent. I have yet to see an accusation of Biblical contradictions that qualifies as a technical contradiction. The fact that the accuser does not accept an explanation does not change the fact that an explanation exists - and thereby nullifies the accusation. "I will not sit here, and list them" Without even a single example, it becomes an unjustified accusation. It is not fair to expect an answer to a question based on an unjustified premise. "things you do not agree with" This happens allot when you are a younger Christian. As you mature a bit in the faith, you realize that these are the results of things you don't yet understand. There are two major conditions for this; 1 I was wrong. There was some path of reasoning that I had previously failed to consider which caused me to come to a wrong conclusion. 2 I was right. However I had misinterpreted and misunderstood what the scripture was actually saying. Upon further study, I realized that the passage didn't actually disagree with what I believed. [So in a sense, I was wrong here as well] "do you think your God approves of picking and choosing what you believe to be true from the Bible?" No. This would place the authority of scripture in errant, imperfect humans hands. Why should my choice of scriptures be any more valid than my neighbors choice? Furthermore, if any part of scripture is untrustworthy, then it is all untrustworthy. You can't have it both ways without undermining the reliability of the entire Bible. "do you accept EVERYTHING to be true?" When considered in context, I am convinced that the Bible is reliable - based on two decades of study and experience. "what makes your belief on how to take the Bible right or wrong" I apply a logical common-sense interpretation methodology. The same kind of methodology I would use to interpret any other text. The goal of any interpretation should be to sincerely search for the original intent of the author - most commonly, taking into consideration the context (grammatical, historical etc.). Certain axioms are certainly present in my reasoning, however I am aware of these and I have rational justifications for each. "murder" God does not condone murder - The Bible makes a moral distinction between murder, and killings as the result of war or judicial punishment. "rape" God never condones rape. "incest" Biblical Laws governing incest did not exist until 1600 years after creation (Lev 18:6). From current knowledge we can presume that God decided that the human genome had become so corrupt that it warranted a law. Remembering that (from a Biblical standpoint) the human genome started off without any corruption. "innocent killings" Innocence is a highly subjective concept. Psalm 106:34-39 describes the practices of these peoples and why God was justified in trying to keep His people separated.

Bible difficulties, or apparent Bible contradictions, exist. The opponents of Christianity often use them in their attempts to discredit Christianity. Sometimes these attacks undermine the faith of Christians who either don't understand the issues or don't have the resources to deal with them.
Opponents of Christianity will cite what they consider a Bible contradiction or difficulty by comparing one verse to another (or more) that seems to disagree with the first. In doing this, several verses are often referenced as being contradictory or problematic. Therefore, to make this section of CARM easy to use, it is arranged by verse for easy lookup. Since many of the same "difficulties" deal with one verse in opposition to another or even several others, I have listed all the verses addressed in the same answer. This makes the initial list look larger than it really is. For example, how many animals did Noah bring into the ark? Genesis 6:19-20 says two while Gen. 7:2-3 mentions seven. Therefore, both verses are listed and both links point to the same answer.

If we read the Bible at face value, without a preconceived bias for finding errors, we will find it to be a coherent, consistent, and relatively easy-to-understand book. Yes, there are difficult passages. Yes, there are verses that appear to contradict each other. We must remember that the Bible was written by approximately 40 different authors over a period of around 1500 years. Each writer wrote with a different style, from a different perspective, to a different audience, for a different purpose. We should expect some minor differences. However, a difference is not a contradiction. It is only an error if there is absolutely no conceivable way the verses or passages can be reconciled. Even if an answer is not available right now, that does not mean an answer does not exist. Many have found a supposed error in the Bible in relation to history or geography only to find out that the Bible is correct once further archaeological evidence is discovered.

Contradictions are in both due to time, languages and generations. One just has to go back to the original scrolls of either to find the truth.
Just look at English in America and how much it has changed just in 200 yrs. We started off with Olde English then formed Modern English then into e-Bonics English and now Text Messaging English. Image a person from 1804 trying to understand our writing today. He would say there are contradictions.
When you have over 400 versions of the bible alone in multiple languages over generations, of course there are going to be errors. For man has re-copied the book and man errors.
Simple error few realize or accept even though it in the scrolls is beginning of Genesis. It states " In a beginning... " not " In the beginning ". That simple word change totally changes the thought and definition of the entire book. Cause now its not the very beginning of time, but a beginning, as in a cycle of time.

Since the Holy Quran is the word of God there are NO CONTRADICTIONS IN IT. You are saying God contradicts Himself? You say contradictions but where do you list them.
List these so called " contradictions" in the Holy Quran. In the very Quran itself these disputes are put to rest. All the things they say about it today they said when it was first revealed.
A POWERFUL BOOK THAT CHANGES LIVES! I know it changed my life, and I never want to go back to the darkness I was in. Interest is banned in the Holy Quran. But can anyone honestly disagree that interrest has made SLAVES out of Americans? Read everything Allah says about slavery in the Holy Quran and Hadith.

In original Tourah and Injeel revealed on Prophet Moses, and Prophet Jesus, there supposed to be no contradictions but unfortunately these are corrupted by humans, that is why you can witness so many contradictions.
According to one Christian paper "AWAKE!" Magazine dated 8 September, 1957, carried this startling headline — "50000 ERRORS IN THE BIBLE?" they mentioned there are about 50000 mistakes in today’s versions of Bibles.
Very first argument in this regard is : Today you will not find a single copy of Bible in its original languages, For Torah ( Old Testament) it should be Hebrew, and for Injeel (New Testament), it is supposed to be Aramic.
For Qura'n you will find in Arabic with lots of translations in almots every language on earth. For Qura'n earliest copy of Qura'n is same wordby word, cover to cover in todays copy you can take from any where on earth.

First let me share with you a website that may help in your quest for contraictions in the Qran. Then I will give you one glaring contradiction.
http://www.answering-islam.de/Main/Quran/Contra/
The Opening Sura Fatihah:
(Koran 1:1-7)
In the name of the Merciful and Compassionate God.
Praise belongs to God,
The Lord of the worlds, the merciful, the
compassionate, the ruler of the day of
the day of judgement! Thee we serve and Thee
we ask for aid. Guide us in the right path,
the path of those Thou art gracious to;
not to those Thou art wroth with, nor of
those who err.
Someone need not be a rocket-scientist to comprehend that these words are clearly addressed to God, in the form of a prayer. They are Mohammed's words of parise to God, asking for God's help and guidance. Some Muslim compilers conveniently add the imperative "say" in the English translation of the Koran at the beginning of the sura to remove this difficulty. This imperative form of the word "say" occurs at least 350 times in the Koran, and its obvious that this word has, in fact, been inserted by later compilers of the Koran to remove countless similarly embarassing difficulties. Thus, we have direct evidence that the Koran starts out with the words of Mohammed.

They both have lots. For sheer quantity, the Bible scores -- it has hundreds. But the ones in the Qur'an have been far more detrimental to societies which attempt to live by Qur'anic precepts: the Qur'an tolerates slavery, and prohibits interest. The latter is a shipwreck when it comes to trying to do business.

Raven's link has both a Quran page and a Bible page of contradictions... while the bible has more contradictions, the quran makes up for it in intolerance and violence. Both religious texts are dangerous in the hands of the mentally ill.
