Like the T-Rex and his cousins you mean? Ha Ha.
Religion arrived "after" we had evolved a big brain and had nothing to do with survival in the trees or before that.
Religion was a tool to explain the world around us, and as time has passed we can now explain it much better with "Science".
The religious nutters that now abound are a throwback and obviously neurotic about what will happen to them when they die, as science hasn't explained that yet ( maybe never will ).
It all boils down to "Faith"as far as they are concerned, pretty dicey ground as far as I can see.
I will stick to my belief that life is a fleeting wonder to be enjoyed to it's fullest "Now" never mind wasting it on superstitious nonsense like praying to Mecca
or waving incense & paying tythes to enter heaven.
After this life there is only oblivion.

Funny! But there's a flaw in your logic.
Natural selection means the survival of the fittest, not necessarily the smartest. The two things don't necessarily go together.
Plus this can be addressed through meme theory. Religion is a meme and can be 'selected' to survive independently of its hosts.

LOL !
It has not much to do with evolution. Perhaps you are not aware that in modern civilized countries with an efficient public school system, religious superstitions are quietly fading away. In many Western Europe countries for example, less then 3% of the population goes to church regularly. That's down from 90% one century ago. Obviously we are on the right track...

That is to assume religious people are stupid. They are not. They are just misguided. Besides, for centuries religion had a useful role to play in explaining how the world worked and to give a guide for living. The only reason to dump religion is that the explanations are no longer valid and they just don't work.

You're most likely making a smart alex remark about religions and the people that follow them... but I'll humor you anyways
Survival of the fittest does not apply to how smart you are when it comes to Evolution. Evolution and this theory mean that only the animals that are able to adapt to their environments will survive.

No, because (and is something I have complained about recently) humans have stupidly helped the idiots survive, so there is lots of bad blood now in the human species...not naturally believers are saved as well...

Nope. Because when you control the world, you can do whatever you want, and kill everyone else off. Christians have controlled the world for 2000 years. Its only now that people are getting the guts to protest their behavior.

Evolution has nothing to do with being the smartest... you can use your wits to survive, regardless of intelligence.

A failure of belief in evolution is not a defect affecting one's ability to survive and procreate. Unfortunately.

It takes millions of years, it's so slow that you can't notice it. Evolution doesn't explain everything though. It's a grain of sand on the beach of eternity.
