Age is irrelevant.. If the 2 of you get along well and share common interests.. Give it a go..
People told my husband and I that me being 8 years older than he is would be a problem married 10 years 10 months now and no problem..
Edit: I should have said age is irrelevant as long as both parties are of legal age, which you both are you being 20 and him 38

There are very few set-in-stone rules regarding age of your boyfriend or girlfriend. As long as both are of legal age the law cannot say anything. Besides, it's more about maturity than age.
OTOH, I once saw a magazine geared towards college students which gave a formula for the youngest person you should consider dating: Take half your age and add 9 years.
Following the magazine's formula you shouldn't date anyone less than 19, while a 38 year old shouldn't date anyone less than 28.
That formula is just a guideline, however.

You're wasting great times on an old person who will eventually start acting like life is a drag in a blink of an eye.
I guess religiously, it's all open. The Bible does say to "Yoke" with an equal partner. I used to think "Yoke" was talking about eggs ... but it's a harnest that ties two cattle together to plow the field. Anyways, you're supposed to "Yoke" yourself to someone who can help u plow ... near the same size, religion, beliefs, age, etc ... think if you were plowing a field with a deer and a buffalo ... or with a young horse and old horse ... it's not that it's "Bad" but that you can find a mate to be more like you in your walk of life.

I'm 38 and a male. I don't and wouldn't see dating a 20 yr old as "dating". Would be sexual thoughts only and something to brag about to my friends.
"check out the hot little thing I'm tagging"
Past that, anything is okay as long as its deemed legal by law, society or G_D.

It is OK because you are of legal age, but it is foolish.... Date guys your own age, and you will be much happier in the long run!!!

do you mean, you're 20 and he's 18,
or you're 20 and he's 38?
i've considered it just because the guy who was almost 40 didn't even look or act 40. he was pretty hot
