You've touched on a good point. By allowing illegals in this country, we are creating a slave class. If they were hear legally they could get a job at normal rate of pay and work their way up the ladder. By coming "under the radar" they are not only criminals, they are creating a slave class that will continue to suck in people who come here illegally. From a humanitarian point of view, the only thing to do is to stop illegal immigration.

Racist? yes.

I've always been legal to work in the US. I grew up here.-- That being said, in high school, I worked at a fast food place alonside many different people. Working there made the real problem evident. My manager had a difficult time getting any "legal" people to apply to work. "Legal" people, black, white, hispanic, didn't want to work for (back then) $3.75/hr. The work was hard and somewhat stressfull because the place was popular. So guess who was working there? A lot of illegals, and a couple of older black women. The illegals were happy to have a job. They worked hard and fast, and they did it all day with a smile on their face. They paid their taxes every year. They NEVER got social services. And no, they didn't have a bunch of babies.
Whenever a legal person did work there (we always had a few on working) they were the laziest, most whiney workers. And most of the time, they did get social services, and they had, and kept having a lot of kids.
Perceptions in this country are all screwed up. I have a suggestion:
Find out for yourself, go work for minumum wage and see what the real deal is. Then, when this conversation comes up, you won't just have predjudices and stereotypes to talk about, and what you say will be more insightfull than, "Immigrants are taking American jobs and lowering wages". Because, in my experience, "Americans" or in this case- legal workers- of whatever sort, didn't want the crappy lowest paying jobs available, and if they did get those jobs, they didn't really want to be there, and their work performance sucked. As a buisness manager who would you hire? As an American, you know, where hardwork and equality is valued, who would you hire?

Let's see here. When I was in high school I worked at a resteraunt as a cook for $2.15 /hour, I worked at arby's for 2.75 /hour. That was a few years ago. The point is I didn't plan to make that my lifes work. My plan was to IMPROVE myself. Now I'm self employed. I have nothing more than a high school education. I didn't get the G.E.D. until 1990. 17 years after I was to graduate. I'm white. I didn't sit on my *** and wait for someone to give me ANYTHING. I don't care where your from, if your here legally, you can work and improve yourself. It's not racist comment, it's a stupid liberal comment. From a left leaning hollywood "elite". I don't put stock in what those folks have to say. They do not affect me in any way. I don't have this odd need to feel guilty for what I've EARNED.
Yes, by the way I'm white.

Uh huh. Well, aside from being racist, it's also untrue. It's against the law to pay anyone under minimum wage and you would think a multi-million dollar franchise would abide this law, given they're more in the spotlight than a private farm would be. But then again, I don't know how stupid some people can be.

This whole illegal thing is a no win situation for us no matter how you look at it.
If we allow it to continue wages will continue to decrease and more Americans will continue to be replaced on the work force by illegals.
Also in the future the illegals will say that we turned them into slaves and exploited them for not having the same rights as we do.
Racism towards Americans will be everywhere and our children will have to suffer the stigma of having parents who enslaved people who were forced to work for poverty wages.
And our children will be the ones to suffer for it the most.

We need to change the laws and not only go after the illegals but also after the company's who employ them.
We need to seize any company caught employing illegals and fine them a hefty fee and because those employers were aiding and abetting criminals they should serve jail time for it.

Something has to be done about this because I certainly do not want my son discriminated against simply because some stupid rich people used illegals for cheap labor.

What was the context of the statement? I don’t think it’s racist as quoted. White people don’t work at Taco Bell for $2.50 but apparently some other people do. No one should be working for below minimum wage. We need major immigration reform now.

Very Racist but as I post in another question there is a lot of evidence that behind the anti immigrant movement its teh white supremacist groups, Tom tancredo has even gotten money from them, all KKK pages are praising against immigration, and right wing fundamentalists are all in the same boat of misinformation. I suggest to you to check some of the serious questions I asked today they are all well documented and backed by real statistics not from la raza or Fair. your tube videos of kkk at antiimmigration rallies, proof of the tancredo agenda, reports about law suits to the meat packing industries for smuggling mexicans. etcetc

It is very racist, against whites. What we have here is a company refusing to pay a decent wage. Our own government would rather hire illegals than pay for an American to have the job. There are reports of people graduating from college and not being able to find a job because companies would rather hire illegals and train them than pay. These companies are ruining our economy and our way of life. While the company is getting a good deal, these illegals receive food stamps and heath care which is gutting our government. Do they really think if we make all these people legal they will be happy to work for minimum wage? We are in for a depression like people have never seen and most people are to blind to see the consequences.

Very. They hate us with all they have, and it's too dam* bad. I didn't put a gun to his head and tell him to rip off someone else's ID. And if he worked for 2.50 an hour, he really is an idiot and I'm so glad he's been aprehended. You don't break into a country, have an illegal ID and expect to start as a Fed-Ex pilot for gosh sakes. He's a bitter ungrateful liar who invaded our country illegally, I could care less what he thinks about Whites or this country, send him home!
