NO-I don't even think it's appropriate to do two. If you're that uptight about paying the exact right amount you can go inside. Other people are in a hurry-that's why they're in the drive thru!
I also think if you're ordering a very large order or family type meal that takes awhile to make/put together you should go inside.
And, yes, I follow my own rules.

You are a paying patron of the restaurant. They should be willing to take any order you have for them. Businesses in the food industry rely on customers to make money; bad service makes no money. As for the other people waiting in line, lines are a fact of life. If they are worried about lines they should avoid them. I have made two or three orders on several occasions with no conflict. I also don’t get frustrated when waiting in a line: short or long. If I were in that big of a hurry I wouldn’t attempt to wait in a line. I would not however abuse the idea by pulling the school bus up to the window or something equally ridiculous.

I think 2 is the limit. You really have to be considerate to whomever else is behind you. Drive thru's are supposed to be a quick process and when you have too many orders the process is slowed way down. I say if you have over 2, go inside and do it that way.

No it's rude and holds everyone up behind the car that's doing that.
Just figure out what everyone wants, everyone give the guy in the driver's seat your money for what you want, and let him place the order for everyone. Then pull over to a parking space after you get the order and sort it all out - or have whoever isn't driving sort it all out.

well I worked in a drive-thru as a teen and 2 orders are okay but more than that is bad for buisiness becasue it slows the drive-thru down so much. some drive-thru's have a sign up that states a limit.

How do you place 2 or 3 orders? Do you mean people change their order once they've placed the initial one? Or do they want you to split the check?

I'd say if it's allowed by the fast-food restaurant, it's fair game, but in courtesy to the people behind you, please try to do it as quickly as possible.
