I'm 15. I'm going to high school on August 28, 2007. I indulged myself, regrettably, over the summer. And now that there's a month left, I need to lose about...14 pounds. It's an embarrassment me that I don't like going to the pool because of what I view as "fat". So I have 5 questions. Answer what you like.
How much weight can a 15-year-old lose in a month?
How much weight is typically lost in a month?
Are there any good sites that can help generate some sort of calorie counter?
How much should I exercise per day?
Do I even need to exercise if I watch my calorie intake?
Please, no mothers or fathers saying, "Oh, that's just baby fat", or, "You don't need to lose any weight right now, you're still young". If I thought I was too young, I wouldn't post this.
No rude comments, no sarcasm, or unwanted humor, either.

that's usda-run site. you can track your physical activity and calories and stuff. it'll tell you if you've eaten the right amounts and if you're doing enough activity.
you can probably lose weight just by lowering calorie intake, but i think exercise really helps set it off. if you're really dedicated, you should try jogging, and maybe some weight-lifting to get some toning. dance dance revolution is also a fun way to work out on harder levels.
i'd say work out somewhere between 30 - 60 minutes... 4 - 5 days a week.
good luck!!!! =)

How much weight can a 15-year-old lose in a month?
age doesnt matter. look at the answer below
How much weight is typically lost in a month?
a healthy amount would be about 2-4 pounds a week, so about 8
Are there any good sites that can help generate some sort of calorie counter?
http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/ im not sure if this is good, since i have never used one, and i find these things to be bad voodoo.
How much should I exercise per day?
1-2 hrs. a day. And i mean nonstop hard work. not "hey, i think ill work out for a few minutes then do the rest after lunch."
Do I even need to exercise if I watch my calorie intake?
hell yeah. This is the biggest mistake people make. Last year, when i was 11, i thought that dieting alone would make me shed a few pounds. Not only was i not enjoying it, but it did not work. Now, i eat what i want. And i still have little enough fat that i can see my 6 pack.
good luck ; ]
oh and here is a trick i found to see if i am gaining progress, and to see if i need to lose weight.
suck your cheeks in, and see if they touch (near the middle area). If they do, you need to lose some weight. Once there is about an inch of space between them, you are good to go.

1) You can safely lose about 2 pounds a week, maximum. Otherwise you put your metabolism to sleep, regain the weight quickly and gain more weight on top of it.
2) Most people lose about a pound a week.
3) Try www.weightwatchers.com
4) Walk an hour to 90 minutes a day to lose weight.
5) Yes, you absolutely need to exercise or you end up with flabby skin. Do some cardio (walking), plus some weight lifting or exercises like pushups and crunches. Learn how on the internet.

It is important to eat healthily at a young age. 15 is not too young. Both my children are 10 and 12, and they are healthy and lean.
My advice is to lose slowly so that the weight will not bounce back. And you can have a toned body. Your weight depends on your height. As long as your BMI is between 19 and 23, you are alright.
Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise, you will not have problem losing some fats and weight. For this diet, there is no need to count calories, carbs, fats or points. Your body will regulate itself.
You need to exercise to increase your metabolism rate. Just make sure you like the exercise so that you will keep to it.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.

You can easily lose that in about 3 weeks if you really worked at it. If you walk/ run 1 times a day (and yes you do need to exercise, its very important) for about 15-30 min, drink 8 glasses of water, eat raw veggies and fruits (more veggies than fruits if you can), 1 Chicken per meal and a multi-vitamin every day in the morning. But you can easily put that back on if you dont change your life style, just stop going to fast food so much. Do you know how many pounds that alone could save you? Then you wouldnt have to do this each summer! If you do this diest you could probably lose 36 pounds. Thats alot, but only if you stick to it. GOOD LUCK! :)

it is not healthy to lose more than about 4-6 pounds per month(also average). It is good to get ride of bad fats and sugars like from potato chips and candy and sodas, take those out of you home. Replace them with lots of yummy fruits and vegetables. it is good to have a big breakfast, medium sized lunch and then a small dinner. it is good to excercise about 1 hour aday. i suggest running and cardio workouts. i also enjoy yoga-relaxing but is still fitness. you cant keep weight off by jsut eating healthy or excercising you have to do them together. gradually lose your weight. you want to thin kabout a gym. hope thid helpd.

nicely, to decrease weight, you're able to consume approximately 1300 energy an afternoon while you're no longer determining and approximately 1700 while you're determining. i like determining and cardio, so some relaxing issues I do are; cycling, working alongside with your ipod, swimming, putting on music on your room and basically dancing around like loopy (i'm serious, it somewhat is this form of competent work out!), exercising DVD's ( you may get them at a video save, library, or thrift save, or attempt Wal-Mart) , attempt strolling everywhere you're able to go. i'd reccommend doing a million-2 hours an afternoon, using fact it somewhat is summer season and you probbly have extra time. you're able to lose approximately 2 pounds each week doing this, even in line with threat extra, counting on how lots you consume now. wish I helped:)

hey, if u have comcast digital cable, go on on demand. then go to sports and fitness. then keep going down till u find "abs". then go to i think its called "ab jam". its somtin like that, u do 10 minutes standing, then 10 minutes on the floor. i use that and u can really feel the burn when ur done, and in a few weeks u can see and feel the difference. if not then do some pull ups, do push up. no sit ups because it is bad for ur back, instead do crunches. it helps you burn fat and get a nice 6 pack.
