My wife & I went there in 2000 and did not have a problem with mosquitoes at all. Like the previous poster said, they may spray, I don't remember seeing anything like that going on. Our experiance with biting bugs is to bring something from out of the area so the bugs won't be used to it. While traveling we always bring something from somewhere else to us in Florida and never have a problem with bugs. I think we keep them confused.

While there don't miss a replica of the Crist the Great Redemer statue there. This is a replica of one of the modern 7 wonders of the world. A question was posted, about 2 weeks ago on Yahoo and I posted a photo of it on my blog.

They will probably spray the area before the performance and may offer air circulation which tends to defeat mosquitos. Any of the modern repellents including the new dry stuff should work fine.
