Possibly, but it could be a matter of preference for the cats.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Presumably, you had the older cat first, and it 'took your head' ... so when the younger cat moved in, it picked the 'next best spot. Why one at the head and the other at the feet? Because that is where we 'humans' LOSE most of our body heat ... so they could be 'helping you stay warm' or may be 'absorbing the warmth' you are giving off ... either way, you are a 'lucky person' to have a cat at 'each end' when you sleep.

Does your younger cat try to come and sleep by your head and get snapped at/swatted at by the older cat? She may just prefer sleeping at the foot, while your older cat prefers sleeping by your head. And it's quite possible your cats move around while you are sleeping, as they are nocturnal animals.

well it all depends.
which cat gets there first?
if the older one gets in the room before the younger one, then the older one probably gets first dibs on sleeping at your head.
there is really nothing you can do about it either.
cats are very territorial and if there is a problem they will either work it out or not.

Cats are very territorial creatures, to the point that they have their own spots on the bed or their own side of the sun from the window. The older one already had the "prime" location, so the younger chose another spot on the bed to call her own.

My cat sleeps at my feet and we used to have a cat(sadly she died) that would absolutely love to sleep at our heads.
But, even though you have two cats I wouldn't worry too much about it.

yes, because the older one is more dominant and pushes the younger one around. who knows maybe the younger one likes it down there? but chances are it doesnt have a choice.

There are lots of more important things to worry about. Your cats have apparently worked things out amicably between themselves.
