It's a theory. theories mean they have some evidence that they can't account for in their full knowledge yet.

We know that there are spiritual dimensions; ie: Bible speaks of many places in "the heavenlies".

No biggie.

We Christians believed in alternate realities long ago. Y'all are just catching up to the Bible in yet another way.

Nothing, because it is only a theory.

However, if I imagine that it is true that there may be many universes, some parallel, some not, it does not change my belief at all. Rather, it strengthens it.

If God had the power to create one Universe, why could he not create many? I would be fascinated to view His other worlds, populated or not.

My 'religious beliefs' already worked with parallel universes long time before that idea ever occurred in the science.

Its a THEORY, that means that though there is evidence for it, there is not enough to say that it is a fact. Did you know that the existance of cells is actualy just a theory. Its called "Cell Theory". This is the theory I believe that put my religious beliefs in check.
It is called the Theory of Intelligent design. It says that the universe operates to perfectly to have that happen by chance. Humans breath in oxygen, and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Do not tell me that that happened by chance.
So believe what you want.

I'm kind of an agnosto-atheist, so I may not be the best person to answer this. BUt if I had religious beliefs, I don't think this would matter to me much.

That's a stretch of a theory and almost as provable as god.
