No it can't.
Can a Mango tree grow out of an apple seed? NO.
Similarly a living being with its principle energy self as the seed cannot be reborn as something else.
I see a person saying here that according to Hindu belief it can. And let me say that even according to Hindu belief it CANNOT. Hinduism when it says that a soul takes birt again in different forms does NOT mean that a human is born again as a critter or something else. Due to person's karma he shall be born again as another Human, but in different circumstances and socio-financial circumstances around it.
