In 1882 the superviser was John Gross Barnard. In the prior dates West Point wasn't really recognized as an acadamy but a garrison and was first established as a fort in the 1700s.

West Point was already an established Military Academy by 1882. Anyway, when it was a military outpost, it was under the command of Benedict Arnold.

West Point became a military academy in 1802, not 1882.

And the first superintendent was Lt. Col. Jonathan Williams.

Your question is sort of confusing do you mean military post.

Then if so it was in 1779 when Washington transferred his headquarters to West Point. West Point is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America.
