It is very common for people to get headaches after using the computer. This is commonly due to muscle strain/tension due to posture and or visual strain releated to the lighting/monitor type/position. People who work at computers all day frequently get repetitive stress conditions from poorly arranged work stations.
If you get recurrent headaches:
1 make an appointment to be seen in your primary practice clinic
2. start keeping a log of factors relating to your headaches including:
a. amount of sleep
b. hours on the computer
c. type of lighting
d. foods consumed
e. amounts of caffine taken
f. medications used
g. time of onset, type of pain, level of pain, location of pain, other associated symptoms, duration of pain
h. if you are female also note timing of hormonal cycle
Note: daily or frequent use of analgesics for headache can lead to analgesic rebound and cause recurrent headaches.
Seek help in managing your headaches. They can be managed naturopathically, chiropractically or with traditional alleopathic or osteopathic medicine.
Go to the National Headache Foundation site at www.headaches.org
they have lots of info re headache. Look under educational resources for fact sheets and especially the headache diary which will help you keep track of the info above.
Also note there are many foods which we often take in daily which can affect headache potential.
By the way... there are medications which can treat and even help prevent headaches. ANd scientific research and study has shown us the probable cuases of headaches but has never shown any evidence of the vital energy flow!

Yes. If you use a computer for a long time and get a headache, it's probably from eye strain. You should take a break for at least 10-15 minutes every couple of hours when using the computer.

Why would you stare at the computer? I always look at my monitor. and I don't get headaches. you may have eye strain headache, I use to get them a lot. so yes sometimes it's normal, get you some reading glasses at the walmarts to bring the monitor in closer to your eyes , the glasses are only a few bucks or if you wear glasses for near sightedness take them off while looking at the computer monitor.

Yes - eye strain and muscle tension from your posture in front of the computer are a very common cause of headaches. Leave the computer off for the day and head outside.

Yes it is normal when you focus on near objects for a long time as your eye lens muscles will be contracted and strained ,the remedy is as simply as take a look at a far thing for a while so that the muscles to be relaxed.
The Other important solution is lessening brightness of your monitor screen.

No, it's not normal. You should use good screen or curtail time in front of. Pl check eyes also.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
