What does this closeness mean?

Question

If a guy hugs you face to face then keeps his arm around your back while you talk...what's that closeness mean?
He also hugged me twice in ten minutes.
People were watching us and that didn't seem to slow him up. And he had a huge smile and a big gleem coming out of his eyes.
Can you read this behavior for me?

This kind of affection has more than a simple act of showing a deep friendship.I think this person is sending the signal which has a meaning very clear and is: this guy is little crazy about you and try to make the terrain to became your boy friend.Is the only and logical explanation about his behavior.Think about it.
