First it does take a mindset and that isn't easy. Second genetics have been proven to have a hand in your weight. Some people just can't go below a certain weight, even if it still makes them overweight.
You are still growing so you have time to make those adjustments. Remember that for every fat cell that you put on you keep it for the rest of your life and it will always want to store more fat. So gaining the weight is three times as easy as losing it.
When eating, slow down, take your time and take plenty of water. A lot of people eat too fast and don't stop eating when they are no longer hungry. It is better to snack a little rather than eat big meals. Eat when you are hungry and stop those cravings that make you want to sin. Eating three meals with a snack in between would be the best idea. Those that skip breakfast think they are losing weight, but they aren't doing themselves any good.
I haven't had a donut, Twinkie or similar desert treat in two years and I have stopped gaining weight (which was a problem for me). I love ice cream and have it every day, but I don't have a bowl of it I get it in small 4 oz cups. Portion control is important. When you take large portions you want to finish all of it. Rarely, do I finish a complete meal at a restaurant; I end up with a lot of doggy bags, because restaurants give you large portions of fatty and calorie heavy food.
Target the food that you love and that costs you a lot in weight. You will crave it and want it (like I do ice cream), but if you reward yourself with small portions of it then you won't be depriving yourself. I used to not eat my ice cream until after I took my daily walk.
The size of the plate makes a difference. If you fill a small plate rather than a large plate the person with the small plate will feel like they got more food, even if they portions are the same.
Eating late at night has some debatable aspects, the myth is that you will be more likely to retain the weight and I would go with the myth because it seems to be true. I know of one study that says it is false.
Don't jump on to the latest bandwagon or the latest’s diet fad or try and use the latest data until time has proven it works. I have seen claims that X works and then later it is proven to not work and then later it is, and finally in the end it is proven to not work. Some of the diet drugs are like this. Just because it works on rats, doesn't mean it will translate to humans. The low carb diet, the low fat diet and the Southbeach diet do seem to be good plans with a lot of evidence behind them saying that they work.
Try and get the family involved. If dad takes a huge bowl of ice cream at dinner and you have a 4 oz. cup then you are going to feel deprived. If your family works with you on the diet then it will help and if they try to join you then it will make it easier.
Step aerobics, Ti Chi, yoga and other similar exercises can be used indoors in a limited area. A work-out tape on a VCR can be a great way. You can also record some of the fitness shows on FIT TV or other channels and later use them for a workout.
Nutritionist will tell you a lot of the same information that you have heard before or can get off the Internet or out of the library. They don't have a magic plan, I have talked with them before. They just tell you what to eat and a few things that I have mentioned.
The best thing is to find something that works and stick with it. You are looking for a lifetime plan here, not something that will let you lose a few pounds in a few months and then you can go back and gorge. That’s called yo-yo dieting, it is better to find a plan like the low carb diet and stick with it as long as you can for the rest of your life. Sure you can take a break for a meal or two, but not for a day or two, never mind for a longer period.
Exercise works best when you get your heart rate up by 10-20 points for over at least 20 minutes; this burns energy. An exercise plan that doesn’t burn calories just wastes your time. So check your pulse rate before and after to make sure you get that jump. An exercise plan that calls for work 3 times per week or once every other day is a good plan, better is to work on one group on day, then let your body rest and work on another group the next day.
Change your attitude, your mind, your lifestyle, the whole idea about how you approach food and exercise. Then you won’t worry if you can look good in your high school graduation photos. Start the plan now, and stick with it. Good luck!

I know what you mean girl. I would love to give you answers but i am kinda in the same boat. I have an excercise bike that I probably use for at least 30 mins to an hr. and then i try eating maybe 1 or 2 meals a day not 3. Don't forget about snacks. I try to drink enough water per day. I need to get back to excercise and when I do I am going to try yoga but right now i would do that hip-hop aerobics. And I like those old jane fonda tapes. Here's a tip go to www.ballytotalfitness.com and then register than print you out one of those passes that let you go for 2 weeks free for signing in and also every 90 days or you could purchase a 30 day print out for 19.99 each time per mo. so yeah!

Once you start exercising, your state of mind will be there. Exercising releases emdorphins in your brain that immediately make you feel better.
As for how you can exercise with little or no money is really simple. Download some up beat music, or turn on the TV to MTV. Create your own routine. I find it even better because you do what you can, and work harder at it each time.
When I was in the 9th grade, we had to make an aerobics routine for gym class. I've just always done that since when I feel I need to exercise. You're less likely to get discouraged when you're in your bedroom by yourself.
Also, it's nice to have a mirror as you're doing it.

Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise, you will not have problem losing some fats and weight. There are many exercises that you can do at home, at minimal costs.
When it is too hot to walk, I walk on the spot in front of the tv, watching news or something.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.
Details in my blog
Read it for some ideas and it is free.
Hope it will help you!

ok, i dont really know what an average girl weighs at age 14. but go see a doctor and ask them about your weight.......im not trying to offend you or be mean or anything like that but.......my mom weigh 150 pounds ......and if u want to excersise try yoga in your house. or ask your mom if you can go to a club and excersize. im sure that they will let a 14 year old use the equipment there. anyway look online for indoor excersizing. your best bet if probably yoga or karate.....also try taking some sports. maybe soccer. basketball whatever you like!

first of all well done in wanting ot make a change
well just believe in yourself and feel positive and then because of the positive attitude positive things may happen.
well you can start eating healthier if your not already
for example dont eat anything with flour or wheat like noodles pasta and brea and potato, they have alot of calories.
stick to fruits veggies and meat. + alot of water
hmm thats a hard one, maybe you can get driven to a safe area like a park and something a run for a while there then get driven back home, or go to the local swimming pool.
i have noticed some doctors are scum and just want the money.
good luck :D

Well, how tall are you?
For starters, if you drink soda, stop doing that. Try to cut back a lot on refined sugars and eat more fruits and vegetables. You can get the magazine shape that has exercises in it that don't require and equipment or get a book about exercise from the library.

Only eat when you're physically hungry and stop when full. Try taking a lunch to school instead of eating the crap they serve.
Turn on some fun music and dance around your living room for fun safe and free excersize, if your school has a gym maybee you can use it after school?
