Or perhaps you believe that people that want to "do good" truly want to leave a better world for the next generation? What do you think?

I think the reasons behind peoples' decisions to "do good" are as varied as the people themselves. It may be they want to leave the world a better place for their children. It may be they feel obliged because someone did something nice for them. Maybe it gives them a better image of themselves. Maybe they feel they will be rewarded in the afterlife. Maybe they are trying to make up for past deeds. Maybe its part of their religious beliefs. Maybe they're just looking for praise. Or maybe it is a true "selfless act" however you define that. Most likely its a combination of these and many other factors.

I think people who have the idea that "do-gooders" are suckers because they can't face the reality that the world is really a horrible place are just playing a game that they are the "toughguys" who see the world as it "actually is"

I think the truth is that it is mostly a matter of perception. Whether the world is a miserable place or a wonderful place is how you see it, how you live in it, and who you choose to spend your time with.

I'm not a sucker. I just want to be a productive person while I'm here. I don't want to end up as a picture on the wall. I want others to have good memories of me and hopefully I have taught them some life skills to use.

DD,

I often hear rappers say that violence in the hood is reality, and that is why they sing about it.

Being good is also reality. It is more of a reality than breaking the law or breaking someone's face. When we fail not to be good or want to be good, there will be nothing left for the next generation.

I think some people are addicted to philanthrophy. I think some use it as retribution. and some as a distraction from the issues in there own lives that need tending. I think some are passive aggresive glory seekers, but I think there are some people that are just genuinely kind and should be cherished at all costs.

What is true to the satanistic thinking and heart are false to people with the faith of God. They fear bad deeds but men weth evil spirit do it and are happy to do bad things at that moment, then repentance will come at last.
