over a year ago we had our car repo because we payed it of early and they tryed to charge all this money its a long story but we got a phonecall about 2 weeks ago and they said they made a mistake and that we don't owe them money in the mean time they sold the car with our sterio in it and we also had baby stuff in the car because we where moving from one place to another and the car broke down thats how it all started we had to leave it at a car shop to fix it has anyone got any idea what we can do we can't affored to go through legal stuff oh and my husband asked if they where going to give us money back for the car and they told us they will contact us and they haven't.

legally you are due some money back ,but they usually don't pay out anything they don't have to ,so i wouldn't count on getting anything from them on this one,what you might want to do though is talk to them,and see what they offer if anything,this happens to people every day.your not the only ones who have went through this,you have to handle it the best way possible,they may actually try and make a small cash offer on it,its up to you if you accept it or not,it may be a small enough amount to just make you mad about the whole situation,good luck on it though i hope it works out for you.

Not enough information. You paid the car off early? You were owed interest and clear title to the car. Then traveling the car broke down at a shop? The shop seeked payment for repairs? Did the shop get money too? If not the shop could of placed a lien aginst the car after 30 days non payment. Now the shop owns it. Absolutely almost no one gets repossessed if there car payments are up to date. The story does not ring true.
