Because it seems that Tillman didn't die the heroe's death everyone wanted and was killed by his fellow soldiers. Friendly fire wasn't the case it was he got fragged or execueted by his comrades.

The military covered up the true nature of Tillman's death because they were afriad that if the truth were told, support for military intervention in the Middle East would fall. I don't blame the military, though, as I'm sure they were ordered by the Bush administration to handle things the way they did.
The whole Jessica Lynch debacle was perpetrated for similar reasons--keep the American public convinced that we are "kicking butt and taking names," and use the mythical tale of her heroism for jingoistic propaganda advantage.
And those of you who are blaming the "liberals" or the "liberal media" for these travesties of truth, bear in mind who was in charge when the tales were told, and WHO TOLD THEM. The media simply repeated them...and FINALLY questioned them.
The sad truth is that BOTH the liberals and the conservatives are using this war for propaganda, and for political gain...the conservatives are simply better at it.

what ever the reason. they should have let him go out a hero.
what does the parents gain. would have been better knowing he went down fighting rather friendly fire. that like driving and killed in a car accident.

Because its in some peoples benefit...... I still want to know why they cover up the JFK assassination. or lets call it what it was a military coup de'tat.

Because they screwed up and a General now will lose one star for screwing up and in the priocess, killing a soldier; a very well known soldier.

It's not right but maybe it's because they are afraid the liberal media will turn the tragedy into political propaganda for their fellow socialists?

hes a hero and a stand up guy...why drag his death into the mud?..its not HOW he died..its that he DID die for his country....hes a role model for selflessness
