yet believing in the existance of the opposite (god) all-loving creature... is so difficult for me.

I know I've felt evil presences.... but don't know that I've ever felt god.
I'd like to think... to believe in one... would then prove the other......but it's not the way it is with me...

...just wondering... any thoughts?

my first thought was george from seinfeld talking to his therapist:
Therapist: "I thought u said u didn't believe in god."
George: "Oh I do when it comes to the bad things. especially when it comes to the bad things!"

yeah. evil is much more apparent in our world. and on a certain level, much more exciting. and powerful. to bite of the apple is to gain wisdom.

i think you've only noticed this evil because you're more attracted to the "dark side" on a subconscious level. or not. :)

Evil ≠ Evil beings

Evil is a thought or action that goes against a particular moral set. It is not the same as an evil presence or thing.

And a ghost is a lot different to an all seeing, all loving, happy clappy kill the sinners kinda god.

Feeling the presence of god is a self delusion induced by anxiety or euphoria from common worship and good stuff thats happened that seems to indicate an overall trend: ie "God being there." So, some people are susceptible to it, others not, because they're more rational and in control of their emotions.

Evil things may exist. I don't know. All I know is my cat stares through walls like theres something there.

Probably because all we see in the news and on TV is the bad things that are happening in the earth. Rarely are there articles or programs about good and kind things that happen.
Find a good Bible believing Church in your area and ask for a meeting with the Pastor. You need to know the Jesus I know and have His Holy Spirit in your heart so you can have the peace that you need in your life. Be blessed and know that some people out there are praying for you and that Angels and the Holy Spirit are working in the earth today.

I am a believer of God and his son Jesus Christ. When I was a baby Christian, the devil tried to scare me and use fear to keep my thoughts on what he was doing rather than what God is doing. As I got older, spiritually, I learned to tell him to get lost....so I could focus on what God is doing! He does so much with me.

God is much more gentle. In the Bible, he says "Be still, listen."

I would recommend that you ask him to help you develop a bigger sense of who he is. After all, he is the one who created Lucifer....who fell as an angel and became Satan. Satan thought he could be more powerful than God, and thats why he was casted out of Heaven.

Good luck, and God Bless. Your curiosity means you hear him already. If you ask Jesus (his son and our saviour) to come into your heart...then you will always have him within you and he will be near to you always. Then when you feel an evil presence around you can tell them to get lost "in Jesus' name", and they have to leave you alone.

Know this though, there are good and evil presences around us always that we can't see, but can feel. The question is....who's friend do you want to be?

instead of calling evil the devil as we should all know evil exist just from the defective thinking of some people why not try calling god good as we should all know good exist just from the right thinking and right acting of many people .
Maybe those presences are the radiant vibes of good people whose spirits transcend time and distance .
peace

There can be not one without the other. Both good and evil exist and complement each other. If you can imagine something absolute good, then it can exist.

I would think that if you believe in one, then you would automatically believe in the other. Maybe you just need to look for the positive things in your life, and ask where they came from.

It wouldn't hurt to pray and ask if He will show himself to you.
