In both, Numbers 6: 23-26 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 the blessing is not outward and material…..Furthermore, this blessing is not related to having any kind of position in the church. Sometimes when we consider our situation, we may be disappointed and feel that we do not have anything. We may feel that nothing is real, not even in the church life. What a blessing it is to have His face, His presence, and to enjoy Him daily as grace! The more we suffer, the more we enjoy the triune God as grace. What a blessing it is to have His countenance smiling upon us, assuring us, and confirming us! And what a blessing it is to have peace in Him, by Him, and with Him!

For me i am wishing the person properity, peace, joy, good health and all that is good. Also,to ask for divine favour or protection for someone or something.
But i have researched its meaning and was pretty much stunned because of the results i found.
Here they are
Origin
One traditional explanation for the custom is that it began literally as a blessing. Pope Gregory I the Great (AD 540-604) ascended to the Papacy just in time for the start of the bubonic plague in AD 590 (his successor succumbed to it). To combat the plague, Gregory ordered litanies, processions, and unceasing prayer for God's blessing. When someone sneezed (seen as the initial onset of the plague), they were immediately blessed ("God bless you!") in the hope that they would not actually develop the disease.
Superstition
Other explanations are based on superstitions and urban legends about sneezing and what a sneeze entails. Some well known superstitions that may have contributed to bringing "bless you" into common use are:
The belief that the heart stops when you sneeze, and the phrase "bless you" is meant to ensure the return of life or to encourage your heart to continue beating. (Of course, the heart beats because of electrical pulses that are not affected by normal functions like sneezing.)
Your soul can be thrown from your body when you sneeze, and saying "bless you" prevents your soul from being stolen by Satan or some evil spirit. Thus, "bless you" or "God bless you" is used as a sort of shield against evil.
A sneeze is good luck and saying "bless you" is no more than recognition of the sneezer's luckiness.
Alternatively, it may be possible that the phrase began simply as a response for an event that wasn't well understood at the time.
Another urban legend states that you cannot open your eyes while you sneeze, or if you manage to your eyes will pop out. During a sneeze the impulses travel through your face causing your eyelids to blink, this response is entirely automatic.
In many English-speaking countries, the German equivalent, gesundheit (which means "good health"), is used after sneezing or coughing.
Alternative intent
One other usage of the phrase "Bless you" in response to a sneeze is to bless or thank a person who sneezes but covers his or her mouth and nose with a tissue, handerkerchief, sleeve, or even a hand (hopefully then washing the hands before touching shared items) as an act of concern and courtesy to others, in order to avoid spreading the germs expelled so as not to sicken other people. Presumably, a person who fails to demonstrate such concern and courtesy by not covering the mouth and nose during a sneeze would not be blessed or thanked.

Blessings come in many forms, spiritual, financial, social, etc. To say God Bless You is a statement of compassion usually uttered by someone who beleives in God's desire to bless (but not always).
The well wisher is leaving it open to God to choose the blessing, but it can also be specific, like wishing that someone be blessed with children.
A lot of people say it when someone does something nice and they wish that something good happens for that person. For others: It has almost become a form of "thank you" and the person saying doesn't really think about what they are saying.
Either way God hears it and since he LIKES blessing his children, he certainly doesn't mind being asked often.. and he does bless people.
May God Bless you with understanding, peace, and desire for more knowlege of Him. And keep you free from worry and filled with joy.

i mean whatever you may be going through Good or bad i am beliveing in my heart that the lord God will bless the days of your life. Also i mean the true and living God because there are alot of Gods out there but there's only one God that reigns forever and is the most high. Thats the one i want to bless you. Sadly its become cliche and taken out of context but in the end. I hope your day is a blessing.

Different people may mean different things, but what I think of when I say "God bless you" is:
May God bring good things to you. All kinds of good things:
health, spiritual wholeness, material blessings, good relationships, joy, etc.
May God bless you!

I mean, "Let the Universe shower love and positive energy all over you." Unless someone sneezes, of course. Then my old superstitious ways kick in. In German folklore, when a person sneezes, that means that a negative spirit was leaving your body. Gusundheit, which is God bless you, was said to counter the negativity/evil spirit. Jeez, I'm rambling tonight.

I mean that I hope you receive the greatest "blessings" (happiness and goodness) in all of the universe.
That will be found, when you find the one who made the universe and who made you.
When you realize that God is your greatest friend, and your sinful heart is your enemy - then you will begin to have the blessing.
Knowing Jesus made me a thousand times happier than I ever thought I could be. I received a "blessing".
God bless you, dude. [Get the happiness blessing from Jesus that rocks your sould to the core, like a baby rocking in a cradle with a belly full of milk. ]

Well, it was once believed that when a person sneezes, evil spirits fly from your nose...or some weird stuff like that. So, people would say God Bless You in order to protect someone when they sneeze.

The truth is......
In the old days....like a hundred years ago....when a person sneezed, Christians believed that you were expelling a demon from your body, therefore they said "God Bless You!"
I'm not kidding! There's your historical significance.
Oh, LOL. I guess you weren't really talking about sneezing huh?
