I mean they've GOT to be somewhere. I could go to a bar or something but I don't drink so that seems kind of weird. Whenever I try going for walks and things, creeps tend to grab my arms and try to get me in their cars or "holla" at me... so where do I meet good ones? I'm a teacher and I live alone-what do you think?

(please no sarcastic answers...)

Well, think about what your morals and interests are, and then think about the types of places where you can find people that share in the same pleasures/interests that you do. Chances may be that if you meet a guy in a bar, and your not into the bar scene-you may not have the same morals, etc. Try church, sporting events, your favorite local restaraunt/club (or check out Wall St-there is super hottie guys there with the brains and the dough! J/K) Good luck!

You want to meet decent guys? Go to church (seriously), or someplace that has a regular meeting for a group of people with mutual interests. Other teachers may be good, but that could be awkward after a breakup, so maybe teachers from another school district. Take a night course in continuing your education towards a masters program, then look at the college professors, graduate assistants & fellow graduate students. You can also do a search for groups that meet in your local area interested in hobbies you enjoy. Try the local gym if you are into working out/fitness. The library is a good place too. Volunteer at your local fire station, or ask the police for assistance with those creepoids that grab your arms, etc.--have you thought of taking martial arts for self-defense, or do you carry mace?

Best of luck to you in your search & thank you for being a teacher!

There is no good place. when you least expect it and you are not looking, he will appear. He will not seem as though he's interested, but he will be. He will not try to impress you or "Holla" at you, he will come to you for other reasons and by chance you two will have a conversation that will spark interest in both of you. All you have to do is realize that you will meet him and it will be when you least expect it. And you will know, not by a feeling you've had before, but a new feeling that will make you feel, for the first time ever, relaxed, and safe and as though all is right with the universe. That's how it was for me and my wife. Now we have two beautiful sons, Damien and Gabriel. Just stop Looking.

Church or work is good, but i would suggest take up a hobbie that really interest you. For instance, I am a Vegan and I would like to meet other vegans - it is good to be around people who believe the same way you do about certain important things. Also, if you are an artist or a musician - take some classes where you can meet people who have like interests in these things. Think of the things you love to do - even if you don't currently do them and look for ways to use them as outlets for meeting new people.

Depends where you live...I am decent. I think. Stay away from the bars, guys there are typically looking for an easy time; a girl that's a little tipsy and not thinking straight. Go to a store and hover around the electronics or automotive section and pretend like you really don't know what you need to fix your car. Ask any of the guys that walk by for help and before you know it, you have made them feel good and it will break the ice.

If you have hobbies that are somewhat guy oriented (ie: not your local knitting club) try joing up with a group of like-mined people. You could also try volunteering somewhere like Habitat for Humanity. There are lots of guys there and even if you're both faking interest in poor people to hook up, at least you'll have fun together and can feel good about what you're doing.

What do you do besides teach? Play tennis, then hang out at the courts; exercise, then hang out at a club or gym; play bridge, etc. Volunteer at a hospital (lots of visitors and workers), elderly (who have children and grand children), food pantry, political campaign, girl scouts. (I was a Boy Scout leader and met lots of single moms.) Local theater? Take a class in something you are interested in, not something you must take for certification. Just get involved in something and you will meet men who are interested in the same things. A great course would be one on BBQing. Many of those are one day courses.

Laundry Mat, or The grocery store around 5:30 during the weekdays. You have to think where are the single guys going to be when there not at work.
