you can get frizz ease heat protetion serum.. apply it on wet hair and then use blow dryer/ straightener.. it should help.. but staighteners always damage hair.. you get split ends .. all you can do is to trim your hair by an inch every 3months :)

The key to healthy hair while heat styling is 2 things: one, protect it w/ products, 2, don't style as often. Herbal Essence stuff works really good, go to herbal essence.com, click on "get the look" then, scroll down to the straight hair video, and watch it, it works really good!!!!
And as for the damage, Garneir separate conditioners, for damage hair work really well. When your hair is dry, use some of that conditioner, heat it up in a bowl (no more then 10 sec.) put it in your hair for about 10 min. rinse, shampoo, condition (do this only once a week.)

FIRST OFF, TRASH THE BLOW DRYER. IT MAKE YOUR HAIR SO FRIZZY! U HAVE CURLS, SO GET SOME MOUSSE, I USE AUSSIE. WHEN UR HAIR'S WET APPLY MOUSSE BY RUNNING UR FINGERS THROUGH YOUR HAIR, THEN LET IT DRY NATURALLY. IF UR GONNA USE A STRAIGHTENER USE SOMETHING TO PROTECT IT FIRST. ALWAYS USE CONDITIONER, BUT ALSO THERE IS SOME SPRAY PROTECTER. I USED A V05 PRODUCT AND IT WORKS PRETTY GOOD.

Use a heat protection serum to protect it from the heat of blowdryers/straigtners. I personally like chi infusion. You could also try a deep treatment conditioner for split ends.
