But whoever owned it before has a 4 digit code parental block or something on it. Is there any way to figure out that code?

1. Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.
2. When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".
3. The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".
4. Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.

it should be 0000 but if it not that then your going to have to try some combo because the previous owner might had had a code on it but alot of people don't waste their time actually setting up a pass code so let just pray it 0000....if you can't get it just contact gamers and ask for help i'm sure they have some type of idea what the code is!

I think the codes are stored on the memory card, did it come with 1? If so try it without the mem card.if not than.... lets see... maybe I turned the thing on (without a disc) while pressing start and select?? or R1, R2, L1, L2??.... you can also ask at Gamefags, www.gamefaqs.com ,so i called sony and they told me that i should hit select and then type in 7444 then after that to change and put my new code and set the perental to off

Try 1234 or 4321 if those don't work your probably not gonna figure it out. Ask someone at a game store or call the customer service.

Oh the code might be.... 0000..... cause thats what it might be thats how some come... ^ Hope this helps have fun with the PS2!!!!!

You accually cant but you should restart the whooole playstation take it to your local video games store and ask them to restart it for you ...its a hard proces so you cant do it yourself
