Iam thinking of Switching my dogs dog food from Blue buffalo to Canidae and was curious what other's thoughts might be.
Which do you think is better Canidae or Blue Buffalo?
Also does anyone have any thoughts on the brand Wellness?

The reason Iam thinking about switching is because I have 3 other dogs that are eating Nutro and every now and then my puppy (the one eating Blue Buffalo) gets into the other dog's food and makes her sick, so iam concidering the Canidae because i have heard 1 that is is good dog food and 2 because it can be fed to puppies as well as adult dogs. Iam trying to figure out the best dog food i can feed them all but also stay within a reasonable budget as well. I refuse to feed my dogs anything like pedigree or kibbles and bits or anything like that.

Canidae is a very good food.It has good quality ingredients.
I feed all four of my dogs (3 Great Danes and a German Shorthair) Canidae. They all look great and they only have 1 firm poop per day (and it isn't big cow patty size either) each.
I also very much like Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul and fed that for a long time, I had to switch because my Dane pup can't have duck.
Wellness is also a very good food (and no it was NOT on the recall list or at least any list we got at the vet hospital or any I received from the FDA) One of the vets i work with feeds Wellness to her two dogs and loves it.

One variety of Blue Buffalo is on the recall list but I don't remember which one. You can check the list at the link below.
I feed Canidae here and it has worked very well for my dogs. However, the blue bag that you see at Petsmart is NOT the right kind. You want the varieties that are not in a blue bag. They are sold at pet stores and feed stores. I feed the "All Life Stages" here (green bag) and my dogs really like it. I haven't tried their Chicken and Rice yet but may try it one of these days. All of the ingredients in Canidae are from the U.S. and there is no wheat, corn, soy or glutens either. It's good food and my dogs are in great condition.

I used both Blue Buffalo and Wellness at the wrong time. They were both in the second dog food recall and haven't used either since. I have heard they are both good foods....but having undesirable results , I probably won't feed those again. We can't get Canidae in my area, though I have considered ordering it online. As far now, I'm feeding the crew Prarie....so far, so good so I hesitate to switch.
*All Wellness products were pulled from the shelves at our local pet store during the second recall. The store called it a a "voluntary" recall. Seemed to be a very good idea as my dogs weren't up to par but pepped up as soon as I threw out the last of the Wellness kibble.

I'm not familiar with Blue Buffalo, but I now have three dogs, three different breeds from a mini dachshund to a hunting dogs and they do great on this food. I have been a dog owner, exhibitor, breeder and trainer for 30 years and I LOVE Canidae dog food. I think it's the best I have ever used.

I don't know Blue Buffalo dog food at all so I can't comment on it.
I feed my Golden's Canidae and love the way it makes my Golden's look and they are very healthy.
Wellness in another very good dogs food.
I don't know why you want to change your dogs food but either of these foods I can highly recommend.

I like eaglepack, www.eaglepack.com I have tried Canidae, and for my dogs, it caused much larger smellie stools. I like Innnova, EVO too. Don't know what kind of dog you have or it's energy level. I used a bag of wellness for a dog I was training, and I didn't think it was a bad food, not a great one, If your dog is doing well and likes the blue buffalo, then why are you switiching?? If it works for you, then stick with it.

Canidae is the better choice... Blue Buffalo contains Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfite which causes birth defects and cancer and a whole lot of other chronic skin etc problems in dogs.

Canidae dog food is excellent it is all I feed my dogs. You will also notice that they will not poo as much and will soon not need to eat as much as they did with the other foods since it does not contain all the fillers that they don't need.

I feed both my dog and cat Wellness, and love it. Stools are small, firm, and less smelly, and their coats are fantastic (and grow really fast!). Their teeth are nice too (which, I brush and everything, but I attribute some of the success to the food).
Wellness also seems to taste really good, because both my dog and cat love it, and when I lived with my roommate, her cat would actually try to eat my dog's food!
