Coragryph and Sergio, you have hit the nail on the head. Further, I have had the misfortune of HAVING TO BE in the presence of several klansmen, in my life !! I have come to realize that 1. The kkk always picks on those who can not defend themselves, or for some reason, is weaker !!!!!!!,2. The vast majority, of those I have had contact with, suffer from an inferiority complex ( a feeling of being inferior somehow).3. The same kkk members / proponents of racial bigatry, strike me as also having an average I.Q. somewhat below the average.4. The leaders of the local "chapters"/ "klavens", are the only ones with a higher than average I.Q., and use the members to(A) obtain money, (B) command the membership to perform acts for they-themselves!!!!!!
Freedom of speach, in the USA, is not limited to only the citizens of thought, but must include everyone, lest that freedom be denied to anyother!!!

I do not read hateful stuff any more than I would read Hitler's Mein Kampf or a book by de Sade. My philosophy is to live and let live; people are just people, and we're all the same under heaven. When some so called "Christian" haters and bigots came to our area to share their poison at a soldiers funeral, they were booed down. Groups of caring folk showed up including police and firefighters, and the bigots left looking like fools.

The clan has always been based on prejudice, bigotry, and intolerance.
The issues you have mentioned will always have a core of people who are easily roused to anger and hatred whenever they see or hear ideas that they consider to be theirs.

They experienced a big resurgence because they are an organized group with brand-name recognition that have a long history of hating minority groups.
And on all of these issues, there are a log of people who hate minority groups.
