The system worked great at my friend's house. He used the same tv model as me. The only difference I can think of is that he used different speaker wires than me. There is no static when I use only the two front speakers, but once I switch to include all speakers and the sub, I get so much static that I can't use the system. Any ideas?

Hi there.Are your speaker cables anywhere near power cords ? They may be picking up static from the AC power line.If they are you can move them or if that doesn't work you can buy special shielded cables.These wires are wrapped in a sheet of foil encased in plastic around the cable to protect it from external electromagnetic interference.

disconnect everything else, one at a time and see if it ever goes away. At least that's step one.
