my cousin borrowed $100 off me about a year ago, and said she would pay me back about 3 weeks after she borrowed it. i then moved 3 hours away and hadnt seen or spoken to her. so i forgot about that money. then about 3 months ago she rang and asked me to borrow $500 and she would give it back to me when she got her loan which was a week after. so i said she could give me back the $100 she owed me as well. well when she got her loan she said it didnt come through. (she is a compulsive liar) then she said she would pay me off $20 a week. she then came to visit and stole my sons $5! my 3 year old son. i no it was only $5.. but it was my sons, and now she hasnt even bothered to give me back the money. i live 3 hours away and i dont see her often. she was ment to be putting it into my account. what can i do to get her to give it back to me. it is really annoying me!

Hopefullly you learned your lesson.........I do not think you will see your money....move on and never let her borrow money again.......however the more I am thinking about it, if she stole $5 from your son then she might have a problem......

First of all, YOU CAN KISS THE MONEY YOU LOANED HER GOOD BYE believe it or not, i don't think she has any intention of paying you back at all, ever. That is shady & I can't believe a family member would even pull such crap on you. Do not lend her any more money, you shouldn't have loaned her that $100 to begin with. I have a cousin who use to keep asking me to borrow money & I always say NO, not because I'm greedy but because I got bills of my own & can't afford to be lending anyone money regardless who it is. That's good you learned your lesson. Tell your cousin if she needs money again, go get a loan from the bank! chances are, she probably already asked the bank before she came to you, but the bank turned her down because she probably has a history of not paying back. I'm not surprised!

Call her and ask her what is going on? Maybe she went bankrupt? Does she work? She probably has a bad habit and is losing all her money by drinking, drugs or gambling maybe?, Call her and if she won't give you straight answers tell her you'll have to take her to small claims court, maybe then she will open up to you. That is really low to steal from your five year old son!
Good luck!

My advice is take her to court. You may want to consider People court, the judge is really fair. Maybe once your cousin is severed she may repay the money. If she repays the money don't allow her to borrow anymore, and when she visiting you keep a close watch on her. This is a sad situation and I pray it will keep solve.

God bless

Besides continuously asking for the money, you cannot make her pay you back.

The only way you could've if there was a contract made before this happened.

Write it off as a lesson learned...... stay away from her........ DO NOT ever lend her any money.. Do not lend her anything again........and she should not be welcomed in your home....... NO matter what.....and if she asks why. tell her you dont like liars, and you want nothing to do with her.......and stick by it...

Stop loaning her money and since she is a known thief, don't let her in your house. (We did this with a cousin for the same reasons that you said above.)
