My mom is teaching me how to cook and I don't wanna learn! She said once I get the hang of cooking I'm gonna have to cook for her and my step-dad! It makes me so mad! >:-( I don't wanna tell her that I don't want to learn how to cook cuz if do.......she'll ground me for a long time and I'll still have to cook for her! I really don't want an answer on how to tell her, or what to do to not learn. I just wanted to let my anger out. I feel a little bit better. <:-) that's better!

tell her you'll try to cook her and your step-dad dinner and if she lets you just do an awful job make the food too salty or use too much pepper or to make it too hot and spicy. If all else fails burn the food. Then throw a fit and cry and say how hard you tried... that should save you from having to cook for a little bit. plus you get to watch them try to eat your nasty food...but you gotta make it look like you really tried to do a good job! you gotta sell it!

We all have to know how to cook at least a few things dear. It's a part of life.

Start out by making some dip (ez) and arranging veggies on a nice plate or making a big batch of granola for breakfast during the week. There are a lot of granola recipes available and you can add what you like...raisins, nuts, dried cherries, coconut, etc.

I've got a cute one if you have little ones around. You will need:

Egg Penguins

Eggs (boiled, gently peeled, and rinsed free of shells)
Toothpicks
Black olives (two per egg - one cut in half)
Baby carrots (slices lengthwise to resemble feet/tiny tips for the nose)
Coconut optional... for display/serving

Head: Attach the olive to the top of the egg with a toothpick with the hole facing front.

Nose: Stick the tiny tip into the hole.

Wings: Attach olive halves to each side

Feet: attach with toothpicks making sure the penguin will stand on it's own.

By the way, if you make these just for kids you might want to make extra. I took these to a gathering and had enough for the children...until the adults got into them ; )

Can i ask you another question why dont you want to cook for them. To be honest learning to cook will hold you in great standing for the rest of your life. I had to cook once a week while I was at home and boy, when I went to College did I need to know how to cook. Cooking is very theraputic as well, I love cooking to wind down (ala Izzy on Grey's anatomy)

Just make sure everything you cook tastes really, really bad! Then they won't want you to cook for them anyway. But you might as well learn if you mom is going to teach you. You'll need to know how to cook for yourself when you get older. Just make things incredibly spicy, use the wrong spices and seasonings (ex: chili powder in sweet dishes, lots of salt, etc.). Make some really gross combinations of ingredients and tell her you are experimenting to make new dishes. You could actually have a lot of fun with this!

Wow! ... Kids today! ... Girl, learn how to cook and grow up! ... What about your future children, do you want to them to eat McDonalds for a lifetime? There's nothing wrong with learning how to cook, and you should not be growned for voicing your opinion. I'm a 44 year old woman and I learned to cook when I was 5 years old by my Grandmother and I cherish her for teaching me. Today, you can't beat me in the kitchen and I mean I can slam! .... So get your knowledge of cooking and stop complaining about something that's a part of growing up!

Learning how to cook is a life skill you will need someday.
You are being given an opportunity of a life-time.
Stop being such a self-centred little brat.
It's about time you helped to contribute around the house.
Who's going to look after you if & when you grow up.

learning to cook is good.
but not actually doing it for the parents.
live life, not spend time cooking for them.
you will have plenty of time to do that when you get married (then thats a good time to get a guy to do it for you)

but for now, just pretend you are liking it and once you grow up, you can run fast out of the house, and never have to cook for them again.

Very often in life, the things you don't want to do is exactly what you should be doing. That's why us adults go to work every day. Just accept the fact that you are growing up, and with that, the list of things you do not want to do, but have to do will keep getting longer, and longer, and....
