When you connect the camera with your USB cord, turn the camera on. On a Windows 98se, XP, or Vista computer, it will be automatically recognized as a new device.
Open "My Computer" and look for a new device (your camera). Click on it and open each nestled folder until you find your photos. You may have go to View on the top of your window and change it to Thumbnails in order to see the actual picture in minature instead of an icon.
Hope this helps.
By the way, the above poster was absolutely correct. Get a memory card reader and save your camera's batteries. If you get a model that takes different memory cards, then you can use it with a friend's camera or with any camera you buy in the future.

I have never had that problem and I have used several cameras on several computers so it must be something you are doing incorrectly. I am sure that the camera has not lost the pictures so the problem involves your computer connection.
Did you load the camera's CD that has any drivers you might need? Does "My Computer" show anything at the location you plugged into , like "Camera drive D:" or something equivalent showing it has memory out there? Do any programs open up and offer to transfer picture files? Have you tried any other cables for plugging it in, in case that one is defective? Have you tried doing the upload on a friend's computer?
Try those and provide details for followup answers.

If you happen to be using Vista, It's not compatible with a lot of cameras. Check the manufacturers website for updates. The best thing to do is go to Wal-Mart and get a card reader for less than $20. Your pictures will transfer a lot faster.

Well first when you turn on your computer you have to make sure you are into my pictures or my documents. Once you plug the camera into the computer the pictures should start downloading onto your computer automatically.
