I saw a show, where they bake the banana in the oven for 10 min. until the skin is black, and the inside stays fresh.

I always put mine in the fridge and they seem to last longer and when I do buy them I only grab 2 or 3 not the whole bunch.

I'm not a fan of room temperature bananas, so if I wrap them in plastic (grocery bag) and put them in the fridge they don't seem to brown or bruise so quickly.

Take them out of the plastic bag because it holds in the ethylene gas they give off. That is what makes them ripen so fast. Keep them away from each other and away from fruit like apples that also give off ripening gas.

They need to be room temperature and hanging from one of those metal banana trees. Don't ever refrigerate them or lay them flat, they will turn brown almost instantly.

In the summer, I buy enough to eat for a day or two cuz they ripen so quickly. I keep mine in the fridge if it goes beyond that time.

Store them at room temperature, hanging from a hook.
They're a tropical fruit. Refrigerating them will make them go black and mushy too soon. Hanging them from a hook will keep them from getting bruised.

They must be hung in the bunch state. Not to touch any surface which will bruise and soften them sooner.
