Not all Christians disregard the old testament. They both work together. How can you disregard the old testament when you have got to line word upon word and precept upon precept. A lot us Christians usually witness to others a lot from the new testament because we are in a more serious time now. But whenever we need to pull from the history part of the bible for reproof then that is what we do. I personally read both and I may go back and read again and God will show me something that I didn't see before. If you disregard the old testament then you are reading the handwriting on the wall because his word is complete.

Christians don't disregard the OT. Jesus did not come to do away with the law, but to fulfill the law.
What I mean is that before Jesus, the law was written in stone. Men were still held under the law, not able to live obedient to the law. That is why God needed to send his Son. Because it is impossible for a man to live under the yoke of the law without breaking the law, thus in sin.
After Jesus, when a man believes, the law that was in stone now is written within the fleshly confines of the tablets of the heart. For when a man is born again, Jesus comes and resides in the heart of that man.
And it is written that Jesus is the Word of God. So if the Word of God is in your heart, so is the law.
So a man must allow Jesus to live his life without sin through him by faith.

the question is why do you group us all together. I have had a hard time finding a church here in central Tx. which does not realize that some things changed in the NT. The rules did change you know. That is not to say there are not cross dispensational truths that do not change but while Jesus did pull much of what He said from the OT, one might even think He had a hand in writting it, still After he deseded into pergatory (paradise) and then ascended to the right hand of the Father He authorized Paul to institute some changes which are relivant today and which are not found in the OT. The letters in the NT are adressed to us so while they have roots in the OT we need to know what was written for us first and formost.

When Paul said that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of G-d, he was talking about what we call the "Old Testiment". The "New Testiment" wasn't even written then. By the way, this is found in 2 Timothy 3:16. Adonai(Y-H-V-H) inspired what Paul called the scripture. Why would we disregard it??

I know! There are so many points in the Bible that are worthy of notice. The Gospels alone tell us plainly certain things that were fulfilled by what Jesus did and the prophetic implications of what went on.
Who wouldn't want to know where the Bible first showed the utterance of God telling about the Messiah?
Also I'd like to mention Paul, who was an expert of what was in the Old Testament. He could tie them into the works of Jesus, and the types and shadows of Jesus which are found in those older scriptures.

I find that most Christians actually disregard the NEW testament. Like all that "Love they Neighbor" stuff, turn the other cheek, do unto others... etc., as well as "Give to Caesar what is Caesars". And don't forget the gospel of Matthew where Jesus said he'd be right back. Hahahaha!

The entire Old Testament and New Testament scriptures speak of Christ Jesus. I read and love all scripture.
My salvation is based on the New Testament and my Works, which God enables me to do, are from the Old Testament.
I only need the New Testament, but I delight in the Old Testament. God Bless You.

Here is one Christian that does not discard the OT. But I do know what Jesus meant when in Romans 10:4 For Christ is the END, Listern again, The END of the LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Yeah, Jesus even pops in during the beginning of the NT and proclaims that he didn't come to change the laws, but to enforce them. The Old Testament still stands, evil Yahweh and all.
