Do many of you believe that Allah says to only serve justice to non-Muslims? Do you believe that we have are to be only tolerant amongst ourselves?

“O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even if it be against yourselves, your parents, and your relatives, or whether it is against the rich or the poor...” (Quran 4:135)

Allah is just to everyone. To those who do good and to those who do evil. Allah has even promised that hell eventually will be empty once everyone has recieved their punishment.. or in other words his justice has been served. Allah even promises to show reward to those who are kind.. Muslim or not.

How do you feel about Islam after being on R&S? After learning more about it? Do you agree that people have this nature to stereotype everything and everyone.. and that Muslims AND non-Muslims... should follow the love and peace?

All opinions welcome. I don't report or give thumbs down to anyone.

Peace & Love to all.

I'm glad to see that many Muslims on Yahoo! Answers are standing up for the peaceful Islam. I know that in Christianity if anyone was murdering people in the Name of Jesus I'd be the FIRST out there to proclaim that that is not what Jesus taught us to do. There should be more peaceful Muslims like yourself teaching a peaceful, anti-terrorist Islam.

I am not a muslim, but having said that my feelings towards Islam and Muslims is that regardless of the wrong doings of some and the properganda that the media and politicians portray I WILL NOT let the media/government tell me who I should or shouldn't like and if people would stop being so easily led by the ignorance of others and actually read the teachings they would quickly realise that the teachings of the Quran is a guidence in how we should become a better person, how to live a better life and that everything and everyone has a place on this Earth.

I started to gain understanding into Islam when I was dating my ex boyfriend who was a Palestinian Muslim and even though he and I broke up recently I was thankful to have met him because through him I gained understanding to the teachings of Allah and the Quran, a lot of which I think should be incorporated in to everyday life.

Therefore, even though I am a non muslim, I still believe that Allah will show mercy on those who are non muslims that have treated people in a kind manner and have shown themselves respect and have lived a good, humble life.
Or to those who have sined but have repented themselves.
However I like to think that he will show no mercy upon those who have lived in sin and in vain with no consideration to those who they perseve as less then themselves.

Hope this may help you. :)

I think I have been fairly consistent in my answers regarding Islam or any religion for that matter.

I am thankful to live in a country where we can all choose to believe what we think is best even if we do not agree with each other.

Whether you are a Jew, Christian, Muslim, Catholic, Mormon, or JW, it makes no difference to me as long as you live within the laws and culture of our country.

However, when it comes to Islam at this point in our history, the one actionable item that would help change perception of this religion is if there would be a worldwide outcry by Muslim clerics and leaders denouncing terrorism and sectarian violence. I do not hear this, and we need to hear it loud and clear.

We can put tremendous effort into changing the hearts and minds of Muslims who believe that it is their duty to kill, but until there is a unified message from the leaders of this religion that suicide and terrorism is unacceptable, hearts and minds will not change, and either will perceptions.

Please do not take offense, you cannot blame people for holding Islam in contempt because of those that use it to justify murder, just as you cannot blame people for holding Christianity in contempt when the actions of a few degrade its true meaning.

Well, I think that the word is pragmatism. Comunism is beautiful in a book, but when is taken to real life is terrible ( to use a very mild expression ).
Maybe islam is an excellent book, but as we see from the non muslims side, terrorists do terrible things in the name of islam . How can you explain that ?
I know, I have heard to exhaustion that the terrorists are just a few, that most islams are not terrorists, etc, etc.
But the, why the "good" islams don't try to stop the "bad" islams if they are the majority ?
Why the "good" islams do not protest against the "bad" islams that are ruining the name of islam and presenting it like a bloodthirsty religion ?
I know, I have heard that they do, but I don't see it anywhere.
The "good" islams should make a jihad against the "bad" islams and make them forget their perverted ways

In Quraan there is a verse in Surah Al Baqarah:
Waizaa hakamtum bainannaasi an tahkumu bil adli
(And when you take a decision amongst people, do it with justice.)
Clearly 'people' means all including non Muslims.
In the same surah & in the next surah 'Aal Imran' there is a verse for desisting Muslims from doing injustice against non-Muslims even in war.
What more do non-muslims require ? They must shed their prejudices against Muslims as told by their highly biased church authorities.
Terrorism was never creation of Muslims. Modern culture full of all evils (particularly against women ) gifted by the west is initiator of terrorism. In medieval period Pope started crusade in 10 th csntury & in that battle, all Muslims of city of Al Quds (Jerusalem ) numbering over 5,00,000 were killed including women, children & old ppeople. Islamic war rules never allow such merciless & indiscriminate killings on religious grounds. That was the first example of terrorism in human history. After 9/11 George Bush too talked of CRUSADE.

Lust of three Ws is creation of the west only. We know what was culture of Rome 3000 years ago.

The religion which advocates and practices primitive blasphemy laws has nothing to do with justice. Muslims are slaves and servants of their prophet and his family and slaves are not free. Islam has nothing to do with Justice. Stop misguiding people with a purpose of converting them to Islam. A man or woman in his or her right mind will never accept Islam.

I do not pay attention to religious scriptures... I do not see them as examples of a religion. I look at the followers and their actions as examples of their religion, be it Islam or otherwise. I think you are a fantastic example of a Muslim, who believes in tolerance and justice. I just wish more Muslims were the same way. I also wish more Christians were tolerant and accepting.

I wish more Muslims would acknoweldge that there are many problems in the Islamic community on a global scale. Issues of human rights, women's rights, freedom to express oneself (including converting to another religion or leaving Islam). I don't think that denial helps anyone, but just makes these problems worse. It also makes all followers of Islam look bad in the eyes of non-Muslims. It makes it look like these Muslims are condoning the acts of their fellow brethren with their silence.

You get this type of reaction from many people in many religions. Each on thinks theirs is the true religion. How many wars have Christians and Muslims been in, claiming God/Allah was on their side. How misguided is that? The Muslims you have encountered can be compared with the , so called, Christian bible thumpers. Why do you think there is so much division in Christian beliefs alone? This is to refute your Sunni/Shite statement. The problem seems to be that not enough true Muslims have come forward to refute the actions of radical factions of their religion. Thusly a sterotype is made.

To be quite honest, I'm sure since we are all decendants of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that very many things these religions have in common. Some of the things that are written in your Qu'ran are also written in our Bible.(Old Testament)
and probably New Testament as well. Yes, we more than ever should practice tolerence. The world seems smaller than ever.........Peace and Love to You also

Yes, I do beleive that Muslims and Non-Muslims should have peace amongst themselves and love for one another! That's what my God says!

However, you must understand that we have witnessed the Muslim's justice and it is not a pretty sight! Your own tribes hate one another while proclaiming to be followers of the same God and Prophet! Yet, they do KILL out of differences.

Sad thing, I understand your post. I understand your sharing. But, I do not understand your lack of empathy towards all the victims from Islam's justice!
