it depends on the person. some people arent effected by that stuff cuz the dont believe that. They are not good for you, they just have a way of comforting some people. good for you means like, brocolli is better for you than hot fudge sunday. Got it?? not everyone beleves the things people wrote claiming to be prophits. the things in the bible have caused more innocent deaths than nuclear war. I personaslly dont take comfort in them because of that factor. I just look at them as storys that strengthen my relationship with god.

Yes, it is true. I think more people would be happy if they would reflect more on the words of the Bible. I know I should, instead I watch 'reality tv' and play on the computer. Hmmm. Thanks for reminding me that there are more important things.

It is for me.

Like this one:
Psalm 84
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca ( weeping),
they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools.

7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

It reminds me so much of my life, going from place to place, trial after trial. I set my heart upon God and being with Him. I pass through the toughest of times and notice His blessings along the way, even to this day. I go from trial to trial and He gives me what I need to continue, and He ALWAYS leads me out of the trouble and gets me to safer ground.

They are written by people in all sorts of situations, so yes, they can be comforting. Since God came through for those people, He'll come through for you eventually too.
