Here we go again! Waaa, waaa -- women could fall in the toilet in the dead of night.... gimmie a break! Who do you know that isn't mentally deranged that could possibly be dumb enough to actually fall into a toilet?? Dang! NO ONE over the age of two would ever f***ing fall in a toilet. This is just another excuse for women to have something to gripe about. My #2 ex-wife went on a tear about this one time so one night, very late and in the dark, I pee'd on the closed toilet lid. Yes she had a flipping fit but I simply explained to her that this sort of thing happens when women hatefully leave the seat and lid down for us men to pee on.

After reading the answers here, I would like to let all the ladies know that there is a toilet seat made by a company called BEMIS that slowly lowers itself so that it doesn't slam down hard and you won't have to worry about falling in the toilet in the middle of the night.
As for the gentleman who says to get over it being "gross", I'll bet the farm that you wouldn't wet your toothbrush with the toilet water or rub it on the toilet seat before you stick the brush in your mouth LOL Need I say more?
The big deal is called courtesy. If someone asks you to put the seat down, learn to pick your battles and just be nice about it.

What's the big deal about having to put the toilet seat down? You put it up there, you should put it down.

o.k i live in a house with 2 guys, one of them is a pig and pees on the rim of the toilet seat, and then leaves the seat up, i can deal with the seat being left up it is the fact that there is someone elses pee on the rim and if i sat in it i would be so grossed out, how would you like to sit in someone elses piss?

What bothers me about it is when it's left up in the middle of the night and I wake up to go to the bathroom. I never turn the light on 'cause it hurts my eyes and I can find my way around, and I go to sit on the toilet and it's really cold and or I fall in. And that part of the toilet most likely has pee on it too, and it gets on me. I'm sure that would bother anyone

If your tired in the middle of the night, and you expect it to be down - the seat - the part you sit on - you know it needs to be down to sit on - well, you are bleary eyed and sit and fall into the toilet the part that's dirty if you are female. It's just being considerate of the ones you love.
If you put it up you can put it down, right? It's that easy.

Why don't YOU try sitting on the toilet when the seat is up and you will understand.

there is a lid for a reason. put the seat down, put the lid down, nobody has to look into the toilet bowl. it is polite and it looks neater.
