Eg. I saw this Christian program once with Kirk Cameron ( from the show, "Growing Pains"), and he claimed that Sabbath used to give "altar calls" during their concerts inviting people to give their lives to Satan.
Rubbish! I've been a Sabbath fan for decades and never found a trace of truth to this.
People have claimed that the song "NIB" stands for nativity in black. It was a reference to the pointed beard of the drummer at the time, (Bill Ward) and that it literally looked like a pen nib. Hence "NIB".
Or the most common lie that the song "Mr Crowley" is a dedication to the satanist, Aleister Crowley. Here is part of the first verse.
"Your life style to me seemed so tragic, with the thrill of it all.
You fooled all the people with magic,
yeah, you waited on Satan's call."
Clearly, he's saying that Crowley is a pathetic figure.
Why such lies to claim being evil? Why not state the truth to claim evil?
Maybe they're not as evil as people claim.

Here are some lyrics to a Black Sabbath song.
"Please God...help me."
Ozzie also wrote a song about suicide NOT being a solution.
Yeah, sounds really evil to me.

I think it's just music. Not my kind of music, but I don't have a problem with Ozzy or Black Sabbath. And most of the things that rock and metal groups do to 'shock' fans is all just an act.
All that stuff about 'Satan worshiping youths' and Satanic Ritual Abuse in the '70s-'90s turned out to be largely a myth.

I know, it's so silly.
If you sit and actually LISTEN to the lyrics, a few things pop right out at you...Sabbath was a hippie/politcal band that was against war, hate, and death. Listen to "Warpigs".
A lot of people, particularly hardcore evangelical Christians, are pretty prone to label just about everything as evil without even taking the time to research it. Just the way many of them are. Look at the Harry Potter business, LOL.

music is never as evil as people who fear its power claim it is. christians though out history have said that the new music was the devils music. it used to be jazz or the blue's then it was rock and now its metal. no matter what people will beleive what they want and something t hat is diffrent or new is always going to be called evil by those who are so closedminded and stupid, that they wont even give it a chance.

Yes, I pointed this out last week when I printed the lyrics for 'After Forever'.
Funny how the Tipper Gore's of the world overlook the lyrics of that song.

Not even close - Ozzy's a Christian - has been for years.
Silly foolishness made up by people's parents to explain teens doing what they do naturally - rebelling. They fear it so much, they don't realize it is a healthy thing for teens to do - that it helps them become competent adults.

well i think the problem with the lyrics is it has the word satan in it and there you go that's all they need to believe you're a satan worshipper.
people will just claim satan and it's satan or demons if it's something that they PERSONALLY don't believe in. They already show signs of not being able to think for themselves so....there you have it.
that's why not one christian can agree with one other christian on everything.
