Absolutely! Instead of jealousy, I see a person who need attention. Instead of slanderous words, I hear pain! Instead of hate, I see a person who has been hurt.

I could go on and on! Indeed, walking closer to Him gives us new eyes and new hearts!

No. But I am thinking you mean if it is easier to be dead to the flesh-still no. I dont think of it as they affected me, but that I have not (if not) overcome something that I am still holding on to as an "old thing". The closer I walk with God, the more compassion and empathy I feel for those truly hurting. The more heartache, or need I see in others more I relate. It is for this reason that I rely on my prayer to affect someone's life, even if I never see that person again. Or even if I never met or will meet them.
For prayer, I have peace that I have done the best I could for them.
When I am walking in the natural, as opposed to the spiritual, I can feel otherwise-temper- that does not make me feel right. The Holy Spirit convicts.
I think people should have an effect on a person walking with God.-think of it as basic training

Not only less affect will they have on you, but, also less friends. Becoming more like Jesus can be a very lonely place, but, He the Holy Spirit will give you all you need. Eventually you grow stronger in your walk of love for and in Him and will see people totally different than ever before<><

Yes. Philippians 4:7 says that we can have "the peace of God which surpasseth all understanding" that keeps our hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. So, when we walk with God, we can have His peace even when things affect us adversely. We rely on that peace rather than our own human understanding about the situation, thus we have peace as our basis for dealing with such issues.

The closer i am to God, the easier it is for me to see the good things about people and be more patient with them. I agree!

You will find that the closer you get to Jesus, the less friends you have in the world. They will stop hanging around you because you make them feel guilty.

And Jesus said, we will be hated for his namesake. When you are hated because of your stand in the faith, it can be a sign you are doing his will and not your own.

I agree with that. The more you understand God, the better you feel. Especially in today's society.

No. We are all human animals, and thus we behave in social ways. Religions can foster a belief system that goes against the norm, but that does not mean you aren't connected to your peers. People still influence you, and chances are that influence extends to your religious beliefs, as well. Why do you think that religions are distributed rather evenly in certain countries?

Definitely. People I know at school kinda conform to each other. My parents are very close to God, and pretty much nobody seems to affect them in any great way (except fellow Christians).
