I believe that the story of Jesus Christ is fictional. The early Christians were just a cult and they made up this story of the Messiah and how he did all these miracles and died and rose from the dead to confirm that there is life after death. Is there any PROOF that Jesus Christ existed?

I think that Jesus is based on a real person, possibly multiple people, however I don't believe he was the son of God. Stories of events surrounding his life could have been embellished with each retelling. Obviously there are many who disagree with me.

"Do you believe that Jesus Christ existed?"
Yes.

"I believe that the story of Jesus Christ is fictional."
Alrighty then.

"The early Christians were just a cult . . . "
Yes they were and are. I would suggest that you look up the word. It might not always mean what you think it means.

"and they made up this story of the Messiah and how he did all these miracles and died and rose from the dead to confirm that there is life after death. "
Then after that most of them died torturously. I've heard that story before, and it's a hypothesis that doesn't make any sense.

"Is there any PROOF that Jesus Christ existed?"
Yes. You get it when you become a truster of God, and commit yourself to God through Jesus Christ. The delivering agent of that is the Holy Spirit. Perhaps you've heard of Him?

God decides who gets the proof that they require. He also does it His way and in His time. . . which is the point of the whole thing.

As an atheist...
I think that there did exist a Jesus-like character 2000 or so years ago, who perhaps preached something kind of similar to Christianity. However, I know that he didn't have any divine origins and did not perform any actual miracles.
The bible is very loosely based on the truth. It has been passed down through more than 2000 years of being edited and added to by scholars and scribes with their own tales to tell. It's also been mistranslated into many languages and back again. It is not something to rely upon for its truth value, but Jesus probably existed. That doesn't mean he's anything like what the Christians proclaim him to be, though.

Yes he did, does, and will always exist. Christianity was not just a centuries old belief based upon the atonement of Jesus Christ. There was a reason for its existence and why people worshiped and followed the teachings of the Son of God.

All you have to do is pray with real intent to know whether god and his son exist and what his mission in life was about.

Dont forget the real intent part you cant just half-*** something like this if you truly want to know.

Almost all major religions—those for and against Him—acknowledge the existence of Jesus Christ. For hundreds of years His existence was widely accepted as George Washington’s existence is accepted today. It is only in recent history that His existence has been seriously challenged. The enormity of early manuscripts referring to Jesus Christ is far and above any record of anyone who has ever lived upon earth. These manuscripts exceed 24,000, the earliest were written within 25 years of Jesus’ death. No work of antiquity approaches the Bible’s documentary credibility, including all works that are accepted as historical fact!

there was never a time He did not exist- and He still does- He spent 33 years on the earth leading up to the reason He came- to die on the cross the pay the price we could never pay so that we can have eternal life- and HE ROSE from the dead, so He still exists and always will- He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. One day every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father. The proof will be seen the day He returns- however Jesus Himself said- "blessed are those who believe and do not see"

Tacitus lived from A.D. 55 to A.D. 120. He was a Roman historian and has been described as the greatest historian of Rome, noted for his integrity and moral uprightness. His most famous works are the Annals and the Histories. The Annals relate the historical narrative from Augustus’ death in A.D.14 to Nero’s death in A.D. 68. The Histories begin their narrative after Nero’s death and finish with Domitian’s death in A.D. 96. In his section describing Nero’s decision to blame the fire of Rome on the Christians, Tacitus affirms that the founder of Christianity, a man he calls Chrestus (a common misspelling of Christ, which was Jesus’ surname), was executed by Pilate, the procurator of Judea during the reign of the Roman emperor Tiberias. Tacitus was hostile to Christianity because in the same paragraph he describes Christus’ or Christ’s death, he describes Christianity as a pernicious superstition. It would have therefore been in his interests to declare that Jesus had never existed, but he did not, and perhaps he did not because he could not without betraying the historical record.

Some time after 70 A.D., Mara Bar-Sarapion, who was probably a Stoic philosopher, wrote a letter to his son in which he describes how the Jews executed their King. Claiming to be a king was one of the charges the religious authorities used to scare Pontius Pilate into agreeing to execute Jesus.

Josephus was a Jewish historian who was born in either 37 or 38 AD and died some time after 100 AD. He wrote the Jewish Antiquites and in one famous passage described Jesus as a wise man, a doer of wonderful works and calls him the Christ. He also affirmed that Jesus was executed by Pilate and actually rose from the dead!

There are other text to confirm the Christ existed.

did you know that just about every religion in the world believes jesus existed, only christians believe he is deity but all of them say he was here, as a prophet or a good teacher, so why do you think that is? there is alott of historical evidence of his existance, i don't see how a fictional character could have withstood this long if he was just made up, every one every where has heard his story, why is that, so you can say you may not believe he is the way to heaven, thats your choice, a stupid choice, but still your choice, but to say he never existed is really ignorant.

Even if we gave you proof you would try to find the logic in the proof. I have done this many times and it's as a joke nobody take you seriously. You can "believe" what you want but I just want to let you know that until you actually step into a good bible based church pick up and read a bible then you really have no say because your judgment is unfair and not justice because you have nothing to go by but your I believe this and that. Please stop trying to get someone to convience you online it's silly the thought because you have no desire to want to know anyway you just laugh at the idea

What historical records say he exist?? SOMEONE PLEASE PROVIDE ME THESE RECORDS... I have been searching for any kind of proof for the past 2 years now!

NONE of the first century scholars (whose books could fill a small library) mention Jesus or his existence, however; they do make mention that at the time when Jesus was supposed to have lived, there were many people running around performing miracles, and claiming to be the messiah! (Josephis)

Yes I do believe that Jesus existed and I believe every story of every miracle. I have no proof that he didn't live.
