I would say flying is the safest way of transportation.

Statistically speaking flying is the safest way to travel.
However, I prefer to travel by car. It's definately not safe with how fast people drive on interstates, but I just feel more in control.

I think travelling on foot is the best way. You have a lot of control over yourself, you can go forward, sideways, reverse, you can also jump over fences where cars cannot!
But seeing the technology advancement I think a car is the safest way to travel. A car seatbelt leeps you much more safer than the airplane ones.

Actually the safest way IS by foot. You can go where no other can, and therefor not be hit.
I prefer a motorcycle. My awareness combined with it's ability let's me avoid a lot.

I've read stats that say Train is safest, followed by plane. Motorcycles are probably last (but most fatalities because people don't wear helmets or leathers).

airplanes are the safest way of transportation according to statistics and experts. it makes sense in a way, how many physical hazards can you really hit or hit you at 30,000ft?

After countless incidents, must say the following, from safest to 50/50 safety:
bicycle, bus,SUV/MPV, ordinary car,train,boat,hot-air balloon, ferry, ship, motor-cycles, helicopter, commercial jet-plane.

I would say walking, but traveling in a sherman tank must be a close second.
