Do we get to drink to this?

Oh well. *drink*.

I am not an Atheist or a Young Earth Creationist. Now I am seeing everyone saying that they are NOT saying these things.

If a person is truly interested in doing his own thinking, he will want to hear both sides of an issue and then think about it and make up his own mind. Sadly today, especially on issues like this, a lot of people start out knowing what they'd like to think, and then only listen to the side that agrees with them, not for edification but only verification.

When someone says that the theory of evolution says that man evolved from monkeys, that gives them away! I suppose it's possible they are innocently misinformed, but not likely. The same goes for people who say Al Gore claimed to have invented the Internet, or that Terry Schiavo was awake and communicative.

Evolution, it is not correct. Science proves it everytime, DNA cannot be altered in this way, why do you think we don't all have 11 toes? Such changes in species occur only at the movies. The horse still looks like the one way back then and the whale hasn't done much evolving either. So it would be much easier to grow wings than evolve from out of monkeys?

You do not mention, but according to Evolution Theory, we do not evolved from monkeys. We humans and monkeys have a common link and every branch evolved with different traits.

There are monkeys because individuals do not evolve but species/population do as a whole. That is why you have different forms of spiders, frogs, fishes, and even animals. Gosh how hard is that? If someone wanted to evolve, they cannot. They need an adaptation change in their environment in order to evolve.. duhh!

So... if I'm frustrated from seeing this question already... why do we even have to go there?

*Massages pounding temples, shaking his head*

[Edit] I see what your intentions are, but I doubt it'll work. Trying to clarify evolution to them is something no one's been able to do since it flies in the face of what they hold true from the clutches of blind faith. You can do it if they are already doubting their religion (they then have the required open--if only a crack--mind to hear opposing viewpoints), but most of the time this question is asked by people who sincerely think it's proving a point. It's a "so there!" question that they really don't care to have answered. That's why they pick a like-minded individual to grant "best answer" to before moving on to their next arrogant and ignorant post.

Yes. I can. But not without the drink. First. Then maybe I will. Not that I want to. Let them live in ignorance. They are happy.

I absolutely agree. It's a foolish claim to make and breeds nothing but ignorance about evolution. It seems that the people who're quickest to put it down, are the ones who know little about it.

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

Why bother with explainations. Just tell them that's why there's a bar in every town and a church for them to seek forgiveness when they are hungover. This alone should exemplify many are still "apes" in mentality.............

The real truth on both sides of that issue are that neither side really is looking for any truth in the debates, they just want to fight.
